As others have said - you can't blame a marriage breakdown on one particular style of parenting. If cracks are there in the first place having a child will make them worse. If both parents aren't in agreement then it will put a strain on things.
I have no idea what type of parent i am. The only parenting book i've ever read is a James Dobson book on discipline as we were having problems with our eldest. I think that sometimes labels are put on us as to how we parent and that puts pressures on us.

I digress and as you can clearly tell a big fan! Parenting styles don't ruin relationships. The strength of the relationship and communication and willing to compromise is the key. Time together time apart and all that. We don't always agree with how we do it but we are still together and still strong. Label our parenting? ermmmm....
