I was a little bored so was just having a nosey on google where I came across a thread from BNB from 2 years ago where the ladies were talking of how if you are constipated it stops the baby from travelling down the birth canal so you are unlikely to go into labour, and one lady even referenced OBEM mentioning it whilst another said her midwife had told her. Has anyone heard of this? The reason I ask is because I am due in 2 days and have been constipated for a few days, I feel the need to go but when I try I just get nowhere. I really hope this is not stopping me from going into labour as I really want my baby now xx

i was constipated for a couple of days before i had my oldest and didnt go til the day after i had her so, no, it wont prevent labour hun and i also didnt poop during birth lol x

if anything it could be a sign of labour for you, same as it was for me hun x

No, it doesn't prevent labor. When I was preggo with my daughter I was EXTREMELY constipated during my whole pregnancy because I was taking triple dosage of iron supplements because I am an anemic pretty bad. However, I knew I was going into labor because one of the first signs was diarrhea. That was the only time I had loose bowels during my pregnancy.
