How much debt do you have? I don't mean mortgage as although that is a debt, I am talking about credit cards, loans, overdrafts, etc.

I owe £500 credit card from my wedding, and I am paying off a £1200 loan from the bank to help me take a wee while longer on mat leave to be with LO. I also occasionally dip into overdraft before pay day. Really gets me down. I was just wondering what debt other people have, sorry to be nosy!

About £2600 if you exclude student loan. £2000 student overdraft that I'm still always in, a £200 overdraft account, £200 next account and £200 on a credit card.

My student loan is about £6500.

£2000 credit card and just over £1000 in other debts that we fell behind with a couple of years ago.

Xx

Excluding mortgage and student loan I personally have £0 of debt. :) Although my husband has a car loan with about £3000 left.

excluding student loan I have about 2400 on credit card, about 4000 left for car finance & about 60 on my next card x

I was silly with money about 10 years ago and it caused some serious credit problems, therefore nowadays I refuse to credit anything same as my oh, so aside from the house 0 debt.

Between us ... OH student loan aprox £2000 , credit card £89.54 ,studio catalog £41.99, sofa finance aprox £600 left and very catalog £75ish.

All will get paid off on next pay day barr the student loan /sofa finance ofcourse

I think for the mess we were in 4 years ago I think a little debt is healthy.

Way too much i have two loans with a year left they are £115 per month (was a 3500 loan over 3yrs) & £84 per month (was a £2000 loan over 3yrs) also last payment on my wedding loan is next month for £158 (5000 over 3yrs) i owe £500 on next account will be paid next month it was a pram for new baby. And dh has two credit cards with about 1000 on each. Dh gets a bonus end of march and credit cards will be paid off then. We more than manage to pay them and im a sahm so dont really worry about how many i have as long as they get paid

Oh I forgot about our car loan :dohh: that's about another £4000

I owe about $6000 on my student loan. I owed nearly $15000 in student loans, overdrafted credit cards and bank accounts, etc. three years ago. With some hard work (and luck in getting a higher paying job) I was able to eat away at it bit by bit...don't let it get you depressed!

DH graduated a few years ago with $18,000 in student loan debt. It's down to $3000 (should be paid off soon)!

We'll be taking on a car loan soon but are hoping to pay half in cash (so a loan of ~$6000-7000). We'll pay that off as soon as we can as well!

We also have a mortgage and an emergency savings account with $3000. We don't have any credit card debt.

We're hoping to be debt free (except the mortgage) in 12 - 14 months!

about £24k on an unsecured bank loan
about £5k on a car (a car that got repossessed, no less, yet we're still having to pay it off!)
about £5k on student loans
about £15k to my mother

so yeah...quite a lot!

no mortgage though.

we're slowly paying them all off though. Another 8 years I reckon.

About £450 on a provident loan, next account £133, littlewoods £130, littlewoods (toms) £500, very £200 and newlook card £180

I was very silly with money when I was depressed and brought random crap to make me feel better which it did at the time in the moment.... But straighte after I felt even more depressed for spending .

No were paying off over £500 a month on each should be debt free in about 3 months :happydance::happydance::happydance:

About £8.5k excluding student loan and mortgage, but when we found out we were expecting our baby (18 months ago give or take) we were at £29k, so I'm thrilled to have paid off almost as much as we've brought in in wages in that time, and still paid our £1500+ bills every month (we've done a lot of ebay etc to achieve this, mostly clothes, every little helps!).

I was £25k in debt. It all got to much so I went the IVA route and paid 70% of it off after 5 years. I feel pregnant during its term and I was able to stop paying whilst on SMP and offered a final settlement when I returned which was accepted.

It's been 3 years since it was settled.

We have $14,000 debt currently, which is owed to my parents. We had a lot of credit card debt and my parents paid it off in order for us to move to Australia, and they bought us our car and other things when we got here. It was close to $20,000 that we owed them in total :/

Waaay too much! Not including mortgage and student loan we have about £23k. It was down to some 'creative accounting' with our tax money last year (we are self employed) to get a deposit for our house. I don't regret doing it but the thought of how we will pay it off is very stressful.

ugh.. I actually hadn't thought to add it all up. about $6700 between 4 credit cards, plus about $1,000 that we still owe my hubby's parents.

They helped us buy our current vehicle (which now needs to be traded in for something more family practical). They are wonderful people and are willing to help any of their children and their families... but they keep track of every penny and nothing is every a gift.

Let me tell it's stressful having that over our heads with a baby on the way.

Our mortgage is the only thing we have.

Cars were both bought in cash.

We both went to uni, but never needed loans.

We are lucky enough to have secure well-paid jobs.
