Helllo,

I am new to bnb and was wondering if I could join you.

I am 26 and dh has just turned 27. We have been ttc since November last year and pre af spotting puts us on our 13th cycle. We have not undergone any tests as dh is ready yet. I have just started reflexology. I have pretty regular cycles and positive opks but do get a few days spotting before and after af.

Thank you for your warm welcome. Just thought I would give a quick update. So after being upset on Thursday about another failed month, my dh went to the doctors on Friday to get the ball rolling. I didn't know anything about it until afterwards and feel really touched that he did it for me, even though he wasn't ready himself. He is being sent for a sperm analysis and needs to contact the local hospital for a time and date.

Is anyone else at a similar point?

My friend had her baby today. Very happy for her but still had a little cry :(

I'm at a similar stage to you, though we've been ttc for longer. I've had the basic bloods done, which came back fine. However, my hubby has resisted the SA up until now and was quite grumpy at the prospect. Now though, he has agreed to do it. The only thing is when he will be able to, as the hospital dept. is only open for about 3 hours each day, Monday to Friday and he usually works a 6 day week. Hopefully once that's done we can move on in some way or other.

Hi sizzles,

How long have you been trying if you dont mind me asking? Your oh sounds similar to mine. He won't talk about it at all and gets grumpy when I try and talk about it too much. Can he take a day off to get there?

I am going to go to the docs this week as well because of the spotting; I have read I can be low progesterone or endometriosis. Hopefully he will refer me for blood tests.

Do you find your docs supportive?

Welcome to the boards Chickensoup. :) I've just moved in over here as well. :)

I'm at about a similar stage to you, we've just had my 21 day bloods done and OH has done his SA, so far all we know is that all the results are normal but we've got another couple of weeks before we see the doctor to find out exactly what the results were.

It's very sweet that your OH decided to do it by himself, I think it's very important that our men decide to do these things, so that they don't feel like we're pushing them. :)

Whereabouts are you?

I am hoping to get to the doctors this week for my 21 day bloods. Will they do it before the 3 day one? He is taking his sample off to the hospital tomorrow. I cant believe how quick it has been; literally got a docs appointment the day he rang, then rang the hospital today and they said come in anytime. I thought we would be waiting months!

That's good news, that your results came in normal. Do you know what your next steps will be?

In in Berkshire, UK. You?

I think I'm at the same point as you, we started ttc around Nov last year too. (this is our second attempt, first was back in 2009 for a few months but I think we missed O day a lot back then) But we skipped a few months, so we have been ttc for about 10 cycles.

I use OPK and BBT, both shows I O every month DH had SA done, count and mobility are normal, but the normal sperm only 10%. ( On the report it says normal amount is over 30%) But his doctor said 10% is still enough to conceive. So I'm worry it might be my problem. :( I'm about to make an appointment with OBGNY in a few days.

But what bumped me is DH had to go overseas to work, and will only come home to visit twice a year, I made him promise to come home during my O time. I don't know when I'll get my BFP

Best luck to you!! Hope you get your bfp soon :flower:

Thanks Damita. I feel more comfortable over here; I went to ttc the other day and just couldn't relate.

Good luck with your appointment bullymom. Sorry to hear your oh has to work away; I hope you get your bfp soon.

hi and welcome
Im at a similar stage, been ttc since nov time 2010, but have very long cycles (approx 50 days) so am probably only on cycle 8 or so
iv had bloods done, all fine, and also a laparoscopy which showed some endometriosis, im seeing my fs end nov where well hopfully find out more and to discuss clomid!
my dh (reluctantly, as i think similar with a lot of our men) did his sa and then received a letter that he needed to do another sample :dohh: he's not overly pleased about this
Hopefully our stay here will be short and we'll all get our bfps very soon
:dust:

Hi honey, don't know if this has been covered already or not, but pre af spotting is a classic sign of low progesterone. Low progesterone can hinder implantation. I should know...

Just press your GP to refer you.

Just wanted to ask you a couple of q's if that's ok?

I'm getting my lap next week and endo is suspected. Did they remove it? Did they give any indication of your chances of conceiving having had it? What are your next steps in ttc? Sorry for the questions.x

Hi, dont worry, ask as many questions as u like.

tbh im a little frustrated with what happened, basically i came around from the anaesthetic and a doctor (not my consultant who i have seen previously and who operated on me) came to tell me that 'my tubes are fine, they found endometriosis, which i knew about anyway' of which i actually had no idea of this, and had never even been mentioned as a possibility  she then just said that id have a follow up appointmnet with my consultant to go through results and discuss clomid, so in answer to ur question (sorry for the ramblings ) i have no idea yet??? :growlmad:

the other thing that frustrated me was that my follow up appointmnet i was given was 4 months after my lap!! i didnt want to wait that long so called my consultants sec to ask if i could see him sooner if i went privatly and she managed to find me a nhs cancellation for 2 months sooner.

i wish id have asked more questions at the time but as i said id just come round from anaesthetic! All i really know is that clomid has been mentioned a sthe next step to hopefuly make me ovulate sooner!

sorry for the long answer and i really hope ur experience isnt as baffling as mine but id maybe recommend having some questions written down for afterwards.

good luck and babydust :dust:

Writing a list for DH to have for me might be a good idea- or to hand to a nurse or something. I'm suspecting endo (hopefully a tiny bit) but they want to check my tubes as well. I also stated that if they found endo I wanted it removed there and then. I was told however, this would depend on equipment being available at the time. Fat lot of good that is. No- they would rather waste tax payers money and have me in a 2nd time. Anyway, will see what comes of it next Wed, Eak!!!

it is such a frustrating process!! and you osmetimes feel so out of control! good luck for wed and keep us updated how you get on :-)

Welcome girl!! I am new over to this section as well..been TTC for 14 months now, and I just can't go into the regular TTC section anymore. Feels so good to talk to people who are in the same situation. :flower:

Looks like we are at about the same stage... I had my bloods and all that good stuff done last month, and everything looks okay w/ me SO FAR. But, DH had his SA done a couple weeks ago and we got the results last week..not looking so hot. :nope: Counts are down in all areas, but it's like the doc said, at least there ARE sperm there, and there is plenty he can do to get his counts up. It was extremely upsetting to hear the news, but hey, it is what it is and now all we can do is just keep trying! She's referring us to the FS and also referring him to a urologist..so now we are just waiting to get our appts set for that! Sadly it will be a couple of months before we can even get in..GAH!!! But we will just keep trying until then!! :)

Good luck to you, and welcome! :winkwink:
