Hi everyone,

Hope you don't mind me sticking around here for a while but don't feel quite like I fit with all the ttc forums with people who've just started their journey. Have got to the stage of no longer being excited about it all as it's taking so long (although I guess not as long as some of you on here :flower:).

I've just recently been to my gp to ask questions about why I'm still not pregnant after a mmc last year as have been finding it increasingly difficult to deal with everyone around me who seems to fall pregnant so easily and hating feeling this way. Anyway, she suggested that we start testing to see if there are any problems, which is such a great relief to me. We are starting with a day 21 blood test and hormone check this week. My oh is apparently not going to be tested until I get my first lot of results back.

But what I really want to know is what happens next. What if there is a problem with my results / what if there is not a problem etc? Just feel I ought to say that I am definatley ovulating as I've been charting my bbt but not till later in my cycle cd18/19. So a day 21 blood test will probably come back wrong. Will I be tested again next cycle?

Sorry for all the questions but have so many to ask!

hi ginger

im fairly new here but just wanted to say i know how difficult it is with people falling pregnant easily around u, even tho u are happy for them the news is always hard to take. i have so many friends who have got pregnant without even trying and it always leaves a pang.
i had the same checks as u done when i first went to the doctors and my 21 day progesterone showed no ovulation. i thought i was ovulating as i had had positive opks but my dr explained that its still possible to have the lh surge without releasing an egg. when i started to chart i could see that i was getting no thermal shift. im now on 1st cycle of clomid but they checked 3 months of bloods with me before prescribing it.
i would show your bbt charts to your dr if poss as your ovulation is later as u are right it would probably affect the 21 day result. i think they just assume the 21 day based on an average cycle but ive always thought that was a bit silly as plenty of people ovulate close to that actual date. maybe they can then delay the time that they would normally do the 21 day progesterone check?
if u dont have an issue with ovulation then they can move on to looking at other things, but u dont want them to assume there is an issue with that based on the 21 day if your ovulation is late.
sorry im no doctor but thats just my thoughts.
sending u loads of baby dust and hope u get your bfp soon xxx
