I'd obviously boil it, but we don't drink tap water nor do our cats or dog. We have a big rainwater tank that we use for our drinking water. Is it ok or should i just use tap water?

Seeing as tap water normally has fluoride added too I would stick with the tap. That said this Australian fact sheet is good, https://www.cyh.com/HealthTopics/HealthTopicDetails.aspx?p=114&np=302&id=2709

Rainwater is great! It's the healthiest option (if you are like us and do not want to drink fluoride :nope:) and I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Babies don't get added fluoride in breast milk so I don't think they need it in formula water (having said that, I'm not sure if/how much fluoride crosses to the baby in breast milk). But my point is, people used rainwater for thousands of years. I think it's great.

People will disagree with me here, but you can find lots of research that suggests fluoride is bad for us. And it's safer not to drink. This is what we believe (although we do also drink tap water sometimes).

Yes i don't believe fluoride is very healthy for us either!
Since water will be getting boiled i don't really see the problem with it

I've been looking into this recently after a chat with the HV about fluoride toothpaste for LO, and I can't find anywhere that tells me any more than about 20% of our UK water has added fluoride. It's only the midlands and a couple of isolated areas, the majority of the UK is added-fluoride free as far as I can see

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though

Not at all. It's naturally occurring in most tap water and is added in more deprived areas that have low natural levels. I believe the op is from australia (correct me if I'm wrong op) where I believe it's added to most water supplies.

Yes from australia :)
Added to all water supplies except very remote areas.

Sometimes if you catch the water as soon as you turn the tap on it comes out just white lol.
Tastes totally disgusting to
