ok, I am 38 weeks pregnant and currently claim ESA (at £122 every week) for extreme anxiety etc..

I was going to switch to income support at some point and was told I didn't have to worry at the time as it was before 11 weeks when I last called .. but due to anxiety on phone calls I kept putting it off and before I knew it i'm ready to pop almost!

I know I will loose a fair bit switching but I thought it would be easier in the long run, but now m worried to phone just yet as don't want to loose that much pay when ill have a new baby which I havn't brought nappies etc yet as didn't want to waist money not knowing size's or formula galore for it not to agree with little one etc.

so my question is can I wait until Baby here to tell them? and use my last pay to perhaps stock up on a few bits or do I have to tell them before hand?

(sorry I know im abit clueless)

any advice greatly appreciated :)

will you not recieve MA at £135 odd a week? Surely that will be more??

MA will only be is she has been working.

You are better to talk to them, as if you should be on a different rate they will seek to reclaim any overpayment, which is the last thing you need with a new baby. If you've worked for 6 months in the last 2 years you'll get maternity allowance which is about £135.
