Hi,

My baby has trapped wind last week and was prescribed infacol. It was working great but noticed he had started spitting up a lot and getting hiccups. He makes this grunting sound a lot, which sounds like he's clearing this throat. He also arches his back a lot, like he's uncomfortable. I think he might have reflux. I'm not sure if it's just a coincidence that this got worse since he stated the infacol or if it has had something to do with it. Had anyone else had this. I've stopped giving it at every feed, just a few times a day. Also do I need to go back to the doctors for something if he has reflux? I'm so frustrated that there's two bank holidays. I won't be able to take him untill Wednesday :( thanks.

I though LO had colic so gave her infacol which made her scream in pain as turned out she had reflux... Got gaviscon after and then she was like a different baby :) x

infacol did seem to make Scarlett bring up loads of milk, yeah

LO has infacol and brings up milk with most burps but winds so much better for having had it that I've stuck with it x

My LO had reflux but it was caused by allergy to cows milk. We gave her infacol and it really worked for us but while googling I found most sources said not to use it for a baby with reflux because it works to being up wind and ends up bringing up acid therefore making reflux worse.

Never noticed it making the reflux worse to be honest! Although now I think about it, maybe!

We still use gripe water sometimes (before bed) as LO takes ages to give up his burps, he'll do it of his own accord but it takes sooo long and burping him takes just as long!
