soapnuts to me, what are they, how do they work ect

i have changed pretty much all our household cleaning produces over to soda crystals, bi carb soda & white vinegar

I think they're a bi-product of another industry actually. They're basically the shell of a nut that is used in something else. The shells contain a soapy substance that is released in water, so you put 6-8 half shells in a mesh bag in your wash and they release the soap instead of using detergent. You can do about 6 washes with each set I think.
