What war hammer is all about? OH's brother is obsessed with it and I have no idea what it is... or why you would want hundreds of little men?

From what I understand (and this is a bit sketchy lol): you buy armies, you choose from different collections like there are futuristic ones and ones with spiders and stuff. Each model has a different value, so a little man would be like 1 point and a cannon would be 5 (I don't know actual values). You paint them and then you play the game with them. There are different games I think, and each game has a rule book that you have to follow. You roll dice and I think that dictates whether you "hit" your opponent and whether you hurt them a bit or kill them or they kill you (maybe ). Oh and maybe there are spells, so you hurt them with magic, but I might have imagined that .

i was so glad to see the back of all ex's war hammer crap when he left!! no offence to anyone who plays it etc but he was so shite at painting it all i did it for him & he just had mountains of stuff, boxes in the bedroom, in the basement, everywhere you looked there was an arm or a leg or a model or paint brush or the grass... urghhh

sorry rant over.

but no i have no idea how to play! lol xx
