Can tossing and turning in bed cause baby to get wrapped by the cord?

I hate to say it but I'm a real tosser...lmao! I can't help moving around the way I do and each time I roll around, I can feel baby adjusting his position too. So I had a thought last night as I was awake most of it (thanks to late pregnancy insomnia) about how certain babies are born with their cords wrapped around their necks.
Could the constant tossing be a factor in this?

Strange you should say this...

With my 2nd i was a nightmare tosser in bed! :haha:

She was born with the cord around her neck 3 times and once round her body...caused mayhem in the room at the time, although she is absolutely fine. It crossed my mind if i'd caused this by not keeping still, and i've thought it this time round too...as my tosser status has arrived even earlier this time! lol

I worry too as I turn over so erratically during the night.

I've had this thought before.... i have started tossing round in bed sooo much this past week or so and i constantly worry about the baby and cord! I don't know if it does have an effect but i hope not xx

Hmmm intresting I toss in bed too and if I think of it I will ask at scan tomorrow:D

I used to be a tosser but the mahoosive bump and SPD have put a stop to that! :haha:

On a serious note I really don't know Hun although I wouldn't have thought so. Maybe ask at your appointment tomorrow?

I have been worrying about this also and if the baby can squash the cord... I darent look it up though on google incase it makes me worry more so Im asking at my appt on friday!

If this was the case im sure someone out there would have invented some some of mechanism that keeps us asleep on one side and not turn over full stop

I tossed a lot and my baby had the cord wrapped around him :(

:dohh: This has stressed me out now lol! I toss all the time in bed :( I'm all worried now :( xxx

i really hope not. i cant just roll over now so i end up sitting up right then changing postion but i am always changing from left side to right side. i also do a lot of bending over and am on the go a lot. i keep thinking about asking where my babies cord is when i have a scan but im too scared of cord accidents to ask. i can see she has a lot of cord in there anyway from the scan.

i really hope this isnt true :cry:

Totally hadn't even thought about this...I toss constantly & feel lo changing position when I do. Hopefully tossing doesn't have this affect.

Has anyone asked their mw/doc about this yet?

oh no now I'm worried I'm a complete tosser in bed lmao I'm always turning from side to side as my hips go dead :(

I toss a lot in bed with my SPD when it starts to hurt one side then I move etc. I am worried now. I cannot sleep still never have. husband hates it as I am always tossing and turning in bed.

your baby can spin round as much as they like really weather your tossing/turning you cant stop them from moving so something you shouldnt worry about tbh

I wouldn't worry to much.. Like Jess said baby's move around on their own anyway. My main concern with night time is that I squash her when I roll over lol.
