Hello,

I am from the TTC over 35 board, just found out that my FSH is 18.2 (last cycle it was 11.8, and I was already worried; now I am devastated).

I was wondering - is anybody here who got pregnant with FSH this high?
I am on tamoxifen for the second cycle, no success the first time, and I have almost no hope anything will help...

TIA for any responses....

Sorry Hun didn't want to read and run but don't have any answers,am sure someone will cum along soon with an answer, good luck,:hugs::hugs::hugs:

My Doctor said anything over 10 was pretty high. That is all I know! I had a 7 on my FSH test...

I never had these results given to me! I wish you the best of luck on your journey! It will happen!!!!

I had my last fertility treatment in November and my FSH was 15....conceived naturally in January....Don't EVER give up!!!!!!

I agree with Mztova. When I was going through treatments - back in 1999, my FSH was 14 - I had twin boys via IVF in June 2000. Then conceived naturally (by accident) this past September (2010). Unfortunately miscarried at 12 weeks, but conceived naturally again in Feb, and am now 20 weeks pregnant. Do NOT give up. As stressful and difficult as it all is, try your best to stay positive.

Thank you so much, you did give me hope, I am very grateful, and much more at peace. :) You girls are awesome!

Hi. Don't let anyone or anything deter you. I have good FSH and AMH levels, but only had an antral follicle count of 4-6 (NOT good). I'm also overweight and ancient (reproductive-wise). I was told it would be just about impossible to get pregnant and here I am.

Any one number means nothing. Even if all of your test results are negative, it still doesn't mean it's over. Not only that, but these fertility tests are not an exact science yet. Women with high FSH levels, low AMH levels and low follicle counts get pregnant all the time. Your young age is a huge plus too.

I’ve read some studies showing egg quality improvement with DHEA – 25mg 3/day. I’ve also heard that CoQ10 (400mg/day) is beneficial, but I haven’t done the research on that one. I’m not recommending these supplements specifically, but I would recommend researching them. If you do take these supplements, make sure you know when to stop taking them, because some supplements such as DHEA are not good for a growing baby.

It may also be a good idea to get a complete thyroid panel too.

I wish you the best of luck.

Was never tested but I read royal jelly and wheat grass could lower fsh. I was using both :)

Hopefully this gives you some hope...

I am age 37, so is hubby and he had to undergo TWO reversals (1st one didn't work, but the 2nd one did)-- and 6 mos after the 2nd one, we found out my FSH levels were high. I went to a Fertility specialist and I didn't respond to the "Clomid" challenge like they would have liked (my FSH didn't drop, it stayed high at 14). But we proceeded and found out I only had 9 follicles the first try with IUI and 6 the 2nd IUI. We were told our odds of conceiving were low- like maybe 5% due to my issue and my hubbies situation (although his procedure worked, his motility and morphology were both borderline, and his count was less than ideal)...

Even against all those odds... we conceived the 2nd cycle with me on Clomid in conjunction with IUI!!!!! Although I'd remained hopeful and just felt like it would some how work out... I was shocked to FINALLY get that BFP. We'd been TTC for a long time.

NEVER give up hope hun... no matter what "odds" the doctors say you have, cause no one case is exactly the same. And sometimes positive thoughts are all we have left.

Wishing you all the very best of luck!!!!!

FYI- about 3 wks before I finally conceived, I bought a bunch of supplements online... Royal Jelly, CoQ10, DHEA and some others to help with my egg quality (although I wouldn't take them after you get pregnant). I figured if there was nothing I could do about the # of eggs, I would give each one the best fighting chance! lol. Even though I didn't need any of it... certainly can't hurt. Also, I took baby aspirin (once daily) from the day AF arrived to the day I ovulated both cycles with IUI. I read it can help blood flow, which is good for those follicles! Have no clue if it really helped, but I was about willing to try anything at that point. LOL.
