I am not technically considered high risk. My problem is that I had a really traumatic emergency section the first time and came a liiiiiittle too close to not being alive anymore.
I'm pregnant again and don't want to take too many chances with the c-section this time. So I've found a hospital that has awesome maternity care. Unfortunately, it's outside my immediate area and my current OB isn't affiliated with the hospital. She said if I want to deliver there (as opposed to the not-so-great hospital she uses), I have to switch docs ASAP.
I found a meternal fetal specialist who is the highest rated c-section spec. at the hospital. But I know I'm supposed to go to a regular OB/GYN if I'm not considered high risk. Isn't it possible to go to the doc who will also end up being your surgeon when the baby is delivered? That would be ideal. Is that even possible?
