I posted here a few weeks ago, asking if people with previous 3rd/4th degree tears in labour had a c-section with the second child.. If you don't remember, basically my labour went perfect - until afterwards. I felt faint and when I stood up a few hours after having LO I fainted and poured with blood. Rushed to theatre where they found I had 3rd and 4th degree tears high up that they hadn't been able to see before when I was being stitched. So, stitches and 4 pints of blood plus on a drip for two days! :(

Today however, I've been to the doctors for my 8 week check, and she said I'd be able to have a normal delivery as the birth canal is now stretched so chances are it wouldn't happen again?? After having Teagan a midwife told me a c-section would probably be recommend.. Do you think if I was to have another I'd be able (and be successful) in requesting a c-section?? If not, that would make me re-consider having anymore, which I really don't want :nope:

I had an elective section after a 3rd degree tear. I had no issues or challenges from anyone and my consultant was very supportive despite the fact I didnt get to my csection date they still brought it forward because my son was presenting transverse.

My advice is be firm about what you want let them know as soon as possible and if they offer councelling take it but remain firm about your choice.

Good luck x

You can always ask for a c-section, they have to take your thoughts and opinions into account, and with the trauma you went through, you should have a good case for a c-section :flower:
