my OH has chosen all the names so far, and i havent had a look in. i wont argue with him because i cant be bothered with a row.

he chose layla for a girl, but im welsh and wanted it double barrled to layla-mai. but no. its just layla. :(

he also chose Freddie for a boy. i like it, but i dont want it shortened to Fred, and i know it will be.
i also cant imagine myself with a freddie. or calling a freddie in for tea, or saying, my son freddie. just sounds wierd.

i can live with layla, but i need a boys name. one he'll like too.
my only 2 choices are Harry and Dio. but he says no :(

so i need some more ideas. i like unusual, but 'cute' names.

sorry about the rant x x

Nico, Rocco, Kyler, Braedyn, Landon, Maddox, Rylan, Carson...?

Two people parenting children takes a tremendous amount of compromise... bc they are always going to have opinions & beliefs on child rearing practices & what's best for their children...

I'm trying to choose my words carefully, bc i don't want to offend you... plus... you didn't ask for advice -- you're just looking for some cute name options, lol

But, it's worrisome that your partner is telling you what you have to name the baby... and wont give you any say. It's also concerning that simply sharing your opinions and talking about something as enjoyable as baby names -- would cause an argument/fight.

I hope you find your voice. I would hate for anyone to have to name their baby a name they don't like. Even more importantly, i would hate for someone to not be allowed to have an equal say in this first "decision making process" about their own child. :flower:

:hugs:, I think you need to be a bit firmer with him hun, me and my DH bickered over our last babys name for most of the pregnancy, in the end we settled on Daisy, it wasnt my favourite by a long shot but it was one of the very few that we agreed on ( i got to choose her two middle names tho :winkwink:). I really like Layla, so why wont he compromise and go with Layla-Mae?? (very pretty :flower:).

Some cute boy names:

Franklin (Frankie) :winkwink:
Sonny
Lennon (Lenny)
Lincoln
Finley
Finn
Flynn
Charlie
Oliver (Ollie)
Archie
Alfie
George
Jayden

Girls:

Lola
Lilly
Ava
Gracie
Poppy
Daisy
Phoebe
Eden
Ebony

He/she is 50% your baby too, so you get choices too . xx
