I only have 6 weeks left, it's time to get this name thing nailed down once and for all. But it looks like I'm going to need some help. Come on, ladies, I have faith that you'll help me figure this out.

We've been calling my bump "Max" for months now. Neither of us are fond of the more formal version of Maxwell.

So we're thinking of going with just Max as a first name. Possibly even making it Maxx with a rogue X added at the end just to make it a bit different, stronger.

The problem I'm having is that nothing sounds right following Max, so for a middle name, I'm stumped.

My husband says that we don't have to have Max in the name, we can name him whatever we want, just call him Max, but I don't like that idea for two reasons.

First, we'd have to start completely over and find another name we both agree on.

And secondly, I'm not fond of giving a kid 2 names and still call them something not related to either of those names (initials are fine, shortened names are fine, even cute nicknames are fine, but I don't want to name him Adam James and call him Max, kwim?).

Does anyone have any suggestions on what would sound good after Max? And what do you think of Maxx with 2 X's? Is it too weird?

Oh, seeing it in print makes the Maxx version look kind of porn-ish...

I don't want my kid to have a porn name. Did anyone think of porn when they read it with 2 X's?

I thought it looked a bit pornish.. sorry
I like Max Oliver.. Hmm, think the middle name needs to be 2+ syllables because Max is so short iykwim? I like Max though!

Max Oliver is nice, maybe Max Joshua or Max Jacob?

Its a tough one, I'll come back if I can think of some more suggestions x

Max Oliver does sound rather nice, doesn't it?

I just got off the phone with a friend, and they suggested the first name be Maximus.

I think that's a bit of an odd name, but my husband had mentioned it before also and I wrote it off. Since my friend just suggested it, maybe it's not as odd as I think it is?

How about Max Lucas, Max Joshua, Max Harrison, i prefer it with just 1 x though tbh x

There was a boy in my class at school called Maximillian :)

I realy like the name Max, with two x's it looks a bit weird though...

Max Lucas and Max Oliver are both cute. I prefer it with just the one X. Maximo is another option.

Some other middle name ideas:
Nolan
Declan
Owen
Grayson
Henry
Topher
David

I am also about 95% sure we are going to call our boy Max as well and have the same issues as you with not finding too many names that go with it for a middle name. One we have thought of is Jordan and then it could also be shortened to a nickname of MJ

However we havent made a definate decision yet.

I like Maximus or Maximillian for longer versions. I wouldn't go for Maxx as it's like TK Maxx then!
If you just want it to be Max I think most middle names sound fine with it. Ethan? Aaron? Edward? Thomas? Antony?

My husband likes Maximus, but I'm hesitant because it's an odd name. Very strong, very gladiator, but very unusual. I've never heard of a person with that name.

The more I think about the double X's, the less I like it. It seemed fine in my head until I typed it out and looked at it. It reminded me of the department store TJ Maxx and porn. LOL.

Sarah, Max is a good name, isn't it? Are you just going with the Max version? I really like Max, just not the longer versions of it.

I knew a Maximillian - he was Italian so maybe that's of Italian origin?

I like Max as it is though - but def just 1 x :-)

How about Max Joseph or Max William?

My husband mentioned Max Joseph (grandfather's name), so that's in the running.

I have heard of a few Maximillian's, but I always think of that bratty kid on the Looney Toons show, lol.

I love the name Max, not any of the longer versions though. Max Joseph sounds nice hun :D Max Oliver is cute too x

Max William sounds good . My brother is called Max and its lovely. I really like Maxwell as a longer version of the name too :winkwink:. xx

We were going to have a Max William - OH changed his mind and said we aren't allowed it because he remembered someone he didn't like called Max :growlmad:

I like the sound of Max Oliver too :flower: xx

Ok, honest opinions here please!

I was feeling goofy earlier and came up with something.

As I said, my husband wants Maximus.

So I thought if his first name is Max. And his middle name is Amos. And you say them really fast, it sounds like Maximus! So hubby could have Maximus and I could have two (fairly) normal names.

Now I'm not sure if I like it because it makes me giggle or if I just really like it.

So what do you all think of Max Amos?

I think if you like Max Amos then go for it, but it does seem a little odd?
How about....
Max Richard
Max David
Max Samuel
Max Thomas
:flower:

How about Max Aiden?
I was concidering the name Max. Max oliver is good too!
