Can't take 3 month old anywhere

My DD hated the car and car seat... and she still cries sometimes when we strap her in. But what really helped was we bought a small portable white noise machine that hooked onto the car seat and that seemed to help. We only recently got rid of it and she will be 6 months old this week. She still cries at stop lights if she's awake though, which from my understanding is fairly common.
