Captain ?

I'd have to give a no to Captain as a first name. I just wouldn't be able to take it seriously if I met someone called Captain. I like the suggestion by PP that you find a name that means Captain, but isn't Captain.

Interestingly, I don't think you could even legally name a child Captain in New Zealand. We have a law forbidding the use of titles as names. So you couldn't call a kid Duke or Judge or anything like that. I imagine that Captain might be on that list!

I'm in the US.. you could name your kid Captain. I actually have two friends that have boys named Duke.
