some guys slammed into the back of me and took off so I had to go to the hospital they had to transport me to my hospital that I'm delivering it to monitor the baby everything is fine my back is just really sore but they did an ultrasound and said the baby already weighs 4 pounds and that she's measuring 31 weeks why do I keep measuring ahead at all my ultrasounds but they won't change the date, what if I don't have my c section until Sept 25th but that means I would be maybe 42 or 43 weeks if that is true and I mean four pounds for 27 weeks is a little crazy but I might have gestational diabetes good that explains her weight

If you have GD it's possibly the cause for a higher weight baby. You should bring those concerns up with your next doctor visit. It's my understanding that they don't change due dates after they've made their initial appointment. There's a point where babies grow at their own rate and don't necessarily fit the mold for accurate dating.

Also, forgot to mention that sorry about your accident and glad everything is looking good for baby despite that jerk.

Thank you... Yes ive brought up concerns about due date, nurse last night said they might change my due date now, im just worried bc i dont want her to be super late and be too developed.. And bc my af is way off i feel im further along, isnt 4 lbs alot for 27 weeks????

Well your ticker says baby should be around the 2 pound mark so yeah if say at least a week or two ahead, but maybe baby is putting on weight at a quicker pace.

Mention it, and they can maybe do some test for GD to make sure.

Xxx

Failing your GD test by a lot can mean GD. The baby is evident of that. They will work it out and may need to take bNy early due to the GD.

I failed one hour glucose by 100, so have to do three hour, dont think she will make it to the c section sept 25 th think she will.come early

Hope you're okay! So glad that you're at the hospital and everything seems to be okay. :(

Yea, so doing three hour one now, im.concerned about her weight

Sorry to hear about the car accident! How frightening.

Did you have a scan in the first trimester at all? Scans up to about 12 weeks are the most accurate for dating baby (the earlier the better, as even by 12 weeks they start varying). After that babies can measure ahead by a few weeks, but that doesn't mean your due date should change. My son always measured big; every scan I had (I had lots for various reasons) he measured further and further ahead. 3 weeks was the most he was measuring ahead towards the end. He was born 9lbs and was very long, but as my husband and I are tall, that explained it.

Here they don't change your due date after your 12 week scan, which I think is a good thing. Babies can range hugely in size, with some measuring weeks ahead in terms of size, but their development is still just that for their gestation. Let's say a woman's due date was pushed forward by three weeks and she was induced at say 39 weeks, that baby would still only have the organ development of a 36 weeker - babies' lungs benefit from being inside as long as possible. If the EDD was established reliably between 8-12 weeks then I would go with your EDD; if you missed the first trimester scans and have always measured three weeks ahead, then I would discuss it with my doctor/midwife.

Good luck.
