Hi girls,

We we're given this car seat by a friend - but we're not sure how the clip on the back of it is supposed to work? I'm wondering if a bit is missing? I've asked our friend and they can't remember (they last used it about 3 years ago!)

Here's some pics, its the clip at the back where is says '1 - press, 2 - slide' obv. the seatbelt goes into it, but can't work out what is supposed to press and slide into it? (last few photos are blurred - tried to get the camera as close as poss)

Anyone got any advice, as to what is supposed to push & slide?

I can't see it properly but i think it is a case of pushing it in and then sliding the seatbelt down and then releasing, hopefully someone else will be able to help x

Does the car seat usually have a base? as with our first one (primo viaggo or something from Mamas and Papas), if you didn't have the base you could fit it as shown in your first pictures - with the seat belt over the top of the car seat (over babies legs).

It looks like you press the button in and slide the other part up, then the seat belt goes under there? OR, with our old one.. you had to push something in at the back to remove it from the car seat base or the travel system pram attachment. Do you think thats what it might be?

I would contact the car seat manufacturer personally and/or try to find the instruction manual online.

It looks a little like the Britax car seats we had that fit with a seatbelt and with an ISOfix base if you wanted it. If you used the base you needed the press and slide thing otherwise you just hooked the seatbelt down the back.

If it is a Britax they do their user manuals online. I'd get a copy of it to be absolutely sure.
