Hi!
I'm a father to be, expecting our second child. I'm a handy guy with a lot of thoughts about how to make life with children better for the whole family and register here at Baby and Bump to hear if you who listen would be able to help me in the process of developing storage in the babies room, maybe even with the result of including it in my work as a furniture maker.
My plan is to make the tallboy a better piece of furniture, and in doing so I have gathered a lot of thoughts and experience from our first born about what we will be putting in it. I would very much appreciate your input on what could be need to haves and nice to haves when it comes to solutions connected to the tallboy. I want to make it the best ever storage for our family. So, if You have any feelings for what would make your tallboy or other similar storage a better place please let me know.
Things we want to store in it are:
- Clothes. Of course. Preferably in order so that we would put a whole set of clothes together in the same drawer and not have to open more than one drawer to get it all out in one grab.
How do you like your babies'/children's clothes stored?
- Welcoming/Christening gifts. For a while, let's say 2 years, it will be nice to be able to open one drawer and remember the time when the baby was very small, getting back to that great feeling. This drawer might even be lined with comfy textile or other "caring" material, to make it like a small treasure chest that is extra nice to open.
If you have any ideas or even reason to question the need of this please let me know.
- Bed linen. Same here, one drawer holds one set. Rather than all pillow cases in one, all blankets in one and so on.
Maybe you see it differently than I do? Maybe you like having another order in the drawers? If so, please let me know.
What else would you put in your tallboy or chest of drawers? If you have good ideas about how to make storage better and easier please post a short reply about how you usually solve it!
Good to be here! Looking forward to following this forum!
