Hi,
Well...this was a really fun pregnancy. I was pretty set on her being the last one since my morning sickness was just as bad as with my first born. But...then around 20 weeks I got diagnosed with IC went from 2.2cm down to 0.7cm and 2cm dilated at 24 weeks. Was placed on hospital bed rest until 28 weeks, then home bed rest til 32 weeks. Went back to work for only 2 days and triggered preterm labor, dilated to 4cm, magnesium sulfate and more steroid injections for 3 days but it stopped the labor. Then....she decided she didn't want to come out after all the worry to keep her in long enough...stubborn little princess.

My doc kept telling me as soon as my contractions got regular to head to the hospital. So that is what I did. I was woken at 10pm on the night of sept 22nd by horrific crippling back pain. I ran to the bathroom thinking it was gas or I had to go but nothing, the pain continued then finally released me. I had my hubby rub it and I fell back to sleep. Then it happened again around 12:30am. I thought I was going to throw up the pain was so bad...but then I remembered...this pain feels awfully familiar...almost like back labor...wait...exactly like back labor. I went and hung out in the living room with my mother for a while and started timing contractions for 2.5 hours. Good thing they moved around to regular contractions and my back labor didn't continue. They got around 7 minutes so I woke my husband up and we took the half an hour journey to the hospital. So got there, was 90% effaced and 5cm woohoo! so admitted, they asked if I wanted and epidural (yes please!). They placed it...only it didn't work....then around 9am my contractions started stalling and I stopped progressing at 6cm. So they wanted to start pitocin but i nixed that until they could fix the epidural. The kept trying different meds in it and I kept telling them they needed to replace it. Finally after a couple of hours of that they replaced it and it worked awesomely. And....I fell asleep...lol. Until about 2pm. I progressed nicely after that and everything was going well. Around 3:30 ish I was fully dilated so they broke my waters and was asked to tell them when I felt constant pressure because then it would be time to push. I could feel her pressing with contractions but as soon as they let up she moved back up. So around 4:25 they started setting up and wanted me to do some test pushes...and apparently I am a really good pusher. I just pushed her right out in about 2-3 pushes over ten minutes? she was born at 4:43pm, perfectly round head, everyone later thought she was a c-section baby. I had no tearing or grazes, just a new hemoroid. My husband almost passed out this time while I was pushing...he missed most of the actual birth because he had to sit down.
Breastfeeding got off to the same start as last time, but this time I had a really good nurse. She said my baby's latch was perfect, its just my nipples were short and wouldn't stretch into her mouth enough for her to not tear them to pieces at each feed. Plus she was a strong sucker. However, she helped me with the nipple shields and we have been feeding that way ever since :) going on almost 4 weeks now. It is a pain in the butt sometimes but it really beats 24/7 pumping which I wanted to avoid like the plague.

Anyways, we are both doing well, sleep deprived and all. :)

crap....so far I can only upload this one pic...the ones taken from my camera are too big...does anyone know how I can shrink them? (computer illiterate here...)
