Thanks for all of the replies, I will be requesting they do this bit after the anasthetic as not only do I not want any chance of feeling it, I don't want to feel someone fiddling about with my bits and pieces. I know this is a silly thing to say when you're about to have a baby and so many have told me "I won't care" and "dignity goes out the window" but I do care and it will bother me.
I remember that feeling (of caring)
before my son was born, I wouldn't even leave female hygene products within view in the bathroom lest hubby see and be grossed out... as far as he was aware, I did not menstuate LOL... I didn't want any evidence of being un-ladylike...
When we went into the operating room, I still had tons of dignity, even kept my second gown on so no one saw my naked little bum (k it wasn't so little...)
Right after the surgery is whe the attrocities started! LOL ....They took all my covers off, and left my entire lower half naked and exposed while they transfered me over to my hospital bed... numb legs and flab were going everywhere! Hubby was kind enough not to look.... Then when we got to the recovery room, the nurse whipped up my blankets and started fitting me with the maternity pad... then coming in every 10 minutes, spreading my legs and checking if I wasn`t bleeding... Then when I was let out of recovery, I had to get into my bed under my own power, hubby holding me from the back, blood running down my legs... The bed I got into had a big pad which is supposed to protect the bed from blood, hubby had to adjust that for me and keep it still when I was coming back from the bathroom... that was just the first few hours...
Not saying you wont care, but dignity definitly goes out the window unless you can keep your loved ones out of the room at least until youre cleaned up..
I don't know if you are trying to make me laugh, but this really hasn't helped.
