My cat catches a mouse every couple of months in our back unfinished area of our basement. It's gross cleaning it up but luckily she leaves it in a specific spot "presenting it to us". Well yesterday..

Found a mouse. It was really a mess so I asked OH to clean it up because I thought I'd be sick :shy:.. not sure if OH didn't look carefully or what, but he said it had no head left

So I've scoured my basement for a mouse head (gross). Haven't found one, and she was down there all day (usually put her in the basement since her litter, food, water are down there if we're going out because she scratches our leather couches and the door sometimes shuts on its own, thus trapping her upstairs away from her litter and food - she's got another water bowl upstairs). She lays on the couch or chairs down there and has lots of room to run around too, not like we're talking trapping her in a dungeon :) It's heated and warm, carpeted, etc.

Do you think she could have eaten it

She ran outside from under my legs when I was going to put out garbage earlier this week and caught a bird nearly immediately as well, she killed it but just kind of carried it around and brought it to the porch eventually ..

I've never had a cat kill so many things in my life. My cat that I had at my mom's has caught a few mice but has never run outside and caught a bird, and never ate them, just killed them or played with them a bit and we set them free in the grassy alleyway out back still alive. And the cat I grew up with there never caught a mouse, but we didn't have any the entire time he was there (we figured it was his scent or something).
