Anyone else's LO like this?

My son loves it and I find the theme song quite catchy lol.

Just saw on the news that the show is being accused of sexism :/

Dd1 adores topsey and tim! She finds it easy to understand and it covers things she might do / experience in real life.

I was just disappointed they weren't real twins

Ahh yes, there not real twins! Lol

I find it quite interesting myself x

Megan is watching it now, she really enjoys it! Ooh I didn't know they weren't real twins though!

Summer enjoys it.

I find it very sexist. The episode last week about how the girls could make cakes and the boys should play on the quad springs to mind!

Girlsngenerally likes making cakes tho :)

My lo loves it, im not too keen.

We have seen it advertised but lot watched it yet. I can remember that the books used to be quite sexist but that was in the 1990s. I would have thought things would have been not quite so sexist these days :(

It was sad to see Tim ask to decorate some cakes then told he can't and its for Vinda and topsy, that was evil :(

I saw a bit of one episode the other day quite enjoyed it lol as I read the books when I was little, but I was surprised to see their mum tell buy them new jeans, with dinosaurs for Tim and butterflies for Topsy… okay that doesn't sound too bad but from what I gathered Tim wanted them to look the same but their 'grown up' jeans had to be different for boys and girls. :-\

Also the parental roles are stereotypical. like it was dad who fixed the roof leak and mum who went shopping etc. I find it pretty annoying tbh. Thankfully LO doesn't seem that fussed about it

I hate it! Why are the girls doing girly things and the boys doing boyish things? It just isn't realistic.

I hate the fact that most of the Cbeebies programmes show nuclear families anyway they need to do something different.

I haven't found any of the other episodes a problem but who would refuse their son to help decorate a cake? That is just upsetting :(

my daughter loves it. she seems to know what time its on every day.. even if we arnt at home. She also cries when it goes off.. x

According to that telegraph article though, they're going to switch things around later in the series. There seems to be a proper story arc which is probably lost on the viewers!

So what if its sexist...so what if there a nuclear family...alot of kids can relate to that set up, so why shouldnt they be catered to as well.

Someone mentioned the fixing the roof episode - Well in my house, my husband would fix the roof and i do do the shopping. My son would rather opt to go and play with cars etc than make cakes, trust me ive tried to get him interested in baking but he isnt.

I like the program, so does my toddler - I like the dynamics of the family, its one i can relate too.

I agree with this, it really isn't a big deal although I did find it sad to say no to a lil boy who wants to join in on decorating a cake and he only wanted to because his friend wouldnt share the quad. But boys playing on quads or a man fixing a roof that's just how life is, lil boys would much prefer to play on a quad bike over sitting indoors painting, my son was actually getting really excited when he saw the quad bike lol

I just think its nothing to complain over, we both really like the show lol

I was really excited about topsy and tim starting as the advert looked really good. I've only watched two episodes so far and I was a bit disappointed, it just seems a bit lifeless so far. I've seen the cake one and the car washing one. I'm guessing they move house sometime in the series since that was a running theme in the 2 eps I've seen (if they haven't already moved since I last watched it)
