CD 1...FS apt Tues! Looking for buddy an have a question

Hello Ladies,

So my DH and I are gearing up to really get this baby making train going! I am on CD 1 and have my first apt with my new fs on Tuesday. Perfect timing and I didn't even try to plan it that way...God is good! I am so excited and so nervous!!!!

So I am going to ask for metformin on Tuesday and I am wondering what side effects did you all experience and what did you do to help battle them?

Also looking for any ladies on CD 1 to travel along with me. I have PCOS and have two rounds of Provera to get my last two periods. WO Provera I don't have periods.

Hi! Welcome to BnB - I'm new here, but I'm on 3DPO.
I was on metformin for almost 2 years before stopping to have surgery in 2011 for a cyst that had gotten to the size of a softball on my left ovary.

Not to scare you, but metformin sucked for me. I had to take 2000mg a day, four pills a day. If I took 4, I would have (sorry, TMI) terrible diarrhea, headaches, and I'd be nauseous for what seemed like forever. So my Dr. took me down to three. After awhile, three started doing the same things to me. So, again, my Dr. put me down to two. It wasn't long before two started doing the same thing, and I was left with only taking one. He reckons it was because I lost a bit of weight and changed my diet considerably and my body wasn't so much in need of the metformin anymore.

Anyway, I hope you have better luck on it - Its always worth it to try! I have PCOS as well, and wouldn't normally have periods without the help of provera, but for awhile I was taking 'natural' supplements and had a period like clockwork. Good luck this cycle! Remember to try and have fun - TTC takes such a toll on you sometimes!
