Hello ladies!!

I'm backkkk! Got a BFP last cycle but it ended in a CP. AF started back up today and we're going to start TTC again. It's perfect timing as we're leaving on our honeymoon in 15 days.

Anyone around the same timing as me and want to symptom spot together?

Welcome CP530! This is technically my 2nd cycle TTC, the first cycle (two months ago) I got my BFP, but it turned out to be what my ObGYN called a "missed miscarriage". He explained that they were totally normal, most people don't catch them because they only test after AF is due, but you have a higher chance to catch one if you test too soon - which is what I did.

This cycle I'm going away on my Honeymoon from April 25th - May 13th. If I charted correctly I'm going to O around the time I leave and AF would be due on the 8th... so I'll wait to test when we get home if the witch doesn't show by then.

Are you going to be doing the Sperm Meets Egg method?

I hope you get your BFP on the first try. Some things I did when I got mine were (and this may sound silly) BD everyday near O and also I lay with my legs up for 30 minutes after BD each time. Also, I've been taking Materna for about 4 months now to get my body ready. I've lost some weight and have been trying to eat as healthy as possible.

Something worked - doc said at least we know we're both fertile.

I started charting a couple of weeks ago, i still have to figure out how to read my chart. I also have opks which i have not used yet. hope fully those will help.

I may try the sperm meets egg. I have been taking prenatal since a month or so. I lost about 15 lbs since last fall and have been doing yoga and eating healthy.

I trained for a 10k last fall which made my cycles about 72 days long. After I switched to more yoga,stopped running and eating healthy, i got it down to 35 days. I am hoping i will be able to figure out my Ovulation day.

Hey girls! I'm on cd2. This will be my 3rd cycle off bcp and ttc. Going to try to relax this cycle and try not to use OPKs this month. As weird as it sounds, I think we were trying too hard to get our 2014 baby. DH and I will BD every day cd4-17 (O predicted for cd16).

CP, that running thing freaks me out!! I've continued to run 21-28 miles a week and my cycles are 29 days. Everyone is different though, which makes it so hard to predict how our bodies will react. I think I would go insane though, not running. It's so therapeutic for me.

Wifey, I hope you get your BFP soon! Way to stay positive in such a sensitive situation! I do the lay down, hips elevated trick too. I don't care if it does or doesn't help, it eases my mind. Otherwise it seems like everything falls out!

I'm also not going to stress this cycle. No testing at all. I'm also going to wait until AF is 2-3 days late before I even think about testing.

I'm just excited to be able to TTC again. Super sticky baby dust to all!

Hi Khigg19,

I got caught up in no fat/low fat diets for a few years which led to the depletion of fat. After i finished the training it the fat % got worse and i stopped ovulating for a few months.

I cant agree more, running is therapuetic . I will get back to running slowly.
My O is predicted for April 19. I think i am getting close to normal now.

wifey2013, I think waiting until AF is 2-3 days late sounds like a good idea to me. I am going to follow that too, i am guessing i will drive my self crazy if i dont have these small rule set in place

Jealous of your O date, mine is the 24th. I don't think I'll test either unless I'm late. I tested 13 dpo last cycle and it was just a waste of a test and slap in the face.

Ladies i have a question for you, (i hope its ok to post this here)

I tried an OPK this morning, i saw a very faint line. I am supposed to O around 19 April. I hope the faint line on OPK confirms that. Or is it too early ? Sorry i dont have a picture of it.
I am confused as this is the first time i am using the OPKs.

please let me know if you experience has been different.

From what I know OPKs have two lines - a control line and a test line - the test line will need to be darker or the same color as the control line. I'm not 100% but the one time I used then that's how it worked. A faint line may mean you're leading up to O but you haven't had your surge yet.

Hey ladies.
i decided since im new to online forums and chatting i would choose just one very similar to my story so i can keep up and actually not go crazy trying to read a million posts from people who may be at very different stages in their TTC journey. SO i got married Nov 2013 and we decided to wait til Jan 2014 to TTC with #1 (my husband is convinced we will have a boy and didnt want him to be the youngest in his grade due to sports) lol silly i know but either way we had many family and friends weddings around that time so i wanted to enjoy them and be able to have a drink or two!


So my story:
Jan - did the shettles method (waited til OPK positive to try for a boy)= no go

Feb- decided no more shettles we just want a baby no matter what!(and the 2ww is terrible) BD every day for the week i was ovulating and found out 4 days before AF that i was preggo with FRER. Unfortunately 8 days later went to ER with cramps (it was a sunday and dr wasnt giving me any reassurance) and unfortunately MC. NOT much more pain than a reg period just very heavy with clots. NO medical intervention needed. OBGYN said wait a cycle so they could date corrrectly as a MC is not a period and even though it was considered a Chemical MC i should wait. WELL.... I charted again and ovulated right on time so i said lets just try bc i felt great!) and we BD like two times= no go got AF again but right on time for my March AF and now...

Mar- just got my AF on Monday 4/14/14 and im 28/29 days regular, i have been charting. i have the FRER ovulation kit and im using Pre-seed---so lets see in two weeks what happens..

mom2be2014 - So your story is almost exactly like mine!! I'm just a bit further along this cycle. I'm on CD6 today, AF has been gone for 2 days.

I pray for our BFP's this month!! What is the Shettles method?

I think we're just going BD every second day until the week of O and then BD everyday until the day after O. I'm a pit of a POAS addict, so this cycle I'm just going to keep things calm and cool and not test (even for O) until I'm a few days late - the CP/MMC was upsetting, I don't want that to happen again.

wifey2013- yes i know we are almost exactly the same!

shettles method- developed by dr shettles popularized in the 80s for sex determination. basically male sperm are faster but die sooner and female sperm are slower but last longer.
so if you want a boy you do NOT have sex until day of or 24 hrs past ovulation and then try (idea is boys will get there first to the awaiting egg and you will conceive a son)
if you want a girl you try every day until a day before ovulation and then stop trying (idea is all boy sperm will die off and by the time the egg is released the only surviving sperm will be the female sperm hanging around and so you conceive a girl)
--- says like 70% accurate but who knows. all i know is my friends who have had sex only once on the day of ovulation usually got boys, and those trying all week long would get girls!


i agree this time im going to chart but im not doing the ovulation tests bc ive spent too much $$$ on them already.

ill start three days before ovulation and then continue for a day or two past- its how i got preggo with the chemical! I WILL use preseed as it worked once already. and i WILL NOT buy anymore friggin preggo tests (also spent way too much $$$). i have one left and ill use it after i miss my AF if i do.


ALL this said.... i hope i dont break down and go buy a million preggo tests when the time comes, BUT thats my "plan" this time! ha

According to my Iphone period tracker unless I get pregnant this cycle I'm supposed to have my period the whole week we're in Kauai. Woof. I was on my period on our wedding day (Jan 25th). What cruel timing!
If I do conceive this cycle I'll only be just preggo on the honeymoon. I'll take it!

Bah! Yeah right! Any time I have a test in the cupboard it's calling my name and tempting me until I pee on it, which is typically way too early. I have a bad case of the "You never know!"

Thank you!!! Congrats to you too! You'll have a blast in Hawaii!! We're also going tropical to California for a week and then we're island hopping in Tahiti I can't wait - the weather where we live has been horrible!!! It's snowed yesterday - ugh!!
