cd21 tests, im confused

saw GP today, she has agreed for me to have cd21 blood test done, thats what it says on my form but then told me to book for a blood test the day i ovulate next cycle??? Is this right? I thought it had to be 7dpo, not on the day of ovulation? surely if i go on the day of ovulation it will show my results to be right as im just ovulating, it won't show my luteal phase is too short due to low progesterone? im 5dpo now and I don't know whether to book in for a blood test on Thurs which will be 7dpo. I know thats going against my GP but she's signed the form now.

Hmm...Don't know why he'd say that...Because 21 days Bloods are just that...21 day...Not right when you're ovulating...

I'd still with the original plan sweetie of 7dpo...Or perhaps give his office a call to double check?

just what i was thinking. Gonna ring the office today and play dumb, say i can't remember what doc said and ask to speak to a nurse. If it is 7dpo i can go tommorrow rather than next month, which is what i originally thought!

ive to have cd21 to check my estrogen levels as a different blood test4somat eles showed that it was low i asked him wot if ive not O by then n he said wether u av or aint ur levels will still be at there highest at cd21 and not2worry so i suppose that wud be the same 4every hormone etc check?!

That is 100% wrong, my gp said on the day of O for me cos of my LPD like ur's. I called and played dumb and she confirmed to test on the day of O. When the results came it, it said i didn't ovulate, what a suprise, i was tested om the wrong day. The progesterone starts deveolping after ovulation. So i tested again 5DPO and it proved i ovulated. So i would test between 5DPO and 2 days before is due, good luck. PM me if you want anymore details XXX

My thought exactly! I rang, played dumb and im booked in for a blood test tommorrow. Even the receptionist said it should be 7dpo! so im booked in tommorrow at 9.50!!

She might have meant, phone up and book your appointment on the day you think you ovulate, because that way you can book it for 7 dpo.

If you know what day you ovulate, or you suspect you ovulate, then you know what 7dpo is going to be. That might be CD35 or CD12 but its 7dpo from that day that you need your blood done.

dunno she was pretty clear that it was ovulation day as i double checked and even said it will be difficult to get an appt on that day and she said the gilrs on reception will understand, god knows, im going tommorrow though either way.

well had my blood test, results back 2-3 days so hopefully before our appt! im really hoping so anyway
