hey all

i have very irregular cycles from 40-90 days sometimes so i am currently on CD40 and have taken agnus castus since CD1

so what i was going to ask was......i do not do ovulation tests

if the agnus castus have worked and my cycle was short this month, and i did ovulate,

would you keep testing just incase? or keep waiting for my period? x

I am on CD50 of also very irregular cycles. I finally started temping so I would have a way to know if I ovulated without spending a bunch of money on OPKs and stuff (I've never used them). I am also on AC since about CD6, and started on a vitamin B complex about a week later because even though my last cycle was 53 days I only had a 5 day luteal phase.

Before I started temping, my rule was to test 8 weeks after my last period, then every 4 weeks after that. I highly recommend temping though... it's never too late to start!

to be honest i really dont want to temp or chart, i might do a test soon then and see what it says and maybe do it every 7 days or something x

it is very annoying x

I would have to say waking up at 5 a.m. to temp every morning isn't exactly the highlight of my day, but I would recommend temping at least a few cycles to get a good idea of what is going on with your body. Then when you go to the doctor you can take your temp charts and show them your patterns. You may just ovulate late, or you may have a luteal phase defect like I do. You may be having anovulatory cycles. Temping is a way to figure stuff like that out though, before going to the doctor and getting all kinds of blood tests and stuff. It's cheaper too :)

We don't pay for any tests in uk so it couldn't cost me anything, but tempting really doesn't appeal to me 1 little bit!
I started bleeding last night at CD 40 odd so that Is the shortest cycle I have had for 1 and half years x

That is good news mummy.wannabe, I am CD 2 today as well.

I was going to say that I have long cycles and when I wasn't temping I just used to test the day before I was going to have a big night out to make sure it was going to be ok to drink.

Do you think it was the Agnus Castus that shortened your cycle?

Good luck with this cycle I hope it is even shorter.

my cycles r very irregular too, i think im goin to start taking soy again... it seemed to regulate my cycles to 38days...

i was told not to take soy by the health shop and told her why i wanted to take it, she said she had never heard of the reasons the ladies do it on here and shes been through every bit of traning to give out this advice and suggested AGNUS CASTUS.

i really do believe that helped me this month as its a bit of a coincidence that i have a shortened cycle and has been taking the pills from CD1
i take what it says to take on the pack, there 400mg and it says take 2 in morning and 2 at night so i will be continueing with them still x

good luck to everyone!! how long you all been trying? xx

i have been trying fora little over two years & used Soy for about 2 cycles ...
how does Angus cactus work & where can i purchase some???

https://www.healthywaymagazine.com/WebIssue46/AgnuscastusMarriageSaviour.html

this site makes it easy to read up and balances the hormoes on the body.

you can buy it in health shops, dont know where you live, but boots, chemists and online, its natural and not that exoensive x

I go to a fertility nutritionist and I asked her if I should try soy because the AC didn't seem to be doing (was taking it during my 159 day cycle but stopped) much and she said no definitely stay on the AC the soy can mess with your estrogen so I am back on AC this month.

Hopefully it will shorten my cycle this month now that my body has a bit of rhythm.

thats good to hear someone else recommend that you stay on AC,
ive booked a doctors appointment for thursday and see what they say, if i need tests to see if im fine or have something wrong x

I have irregular cycles too (I take also Angus Cactus which helped shorten them a bit and make me more regular).

Is there a reason you don't use OPTs? They can be costly, especially when you are irregular because you are using more than the average person. I know a lot of people are successful temping/charting, but for me OPTs are worth the money.

After 8 months of trying for #1 I started using OPTs. After 2 months of using them, I got pregnant. I found that just temping/charting my discharge (sorry tmi) that when I *thought* I was fertile, wasn't being corraborated with the OPTs--it was actually a few days later. So for 8 months, I likely had missing my most fertile time because I was misinterpreting my signs. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage, but we are going to start trying again and I will definitely be using the OPTs to aid my next pregnancy.

Good luck with the AC and I hope your doctor's appointment goes well!

exactly the reason you said is why i dont use OPKs other woman are using them for 20odd days and getting there postive but id be using them for 60-90 odd days and i cant afford to buy that many month on month out,
i wanted to get my cycles down to a reasonable length and i might start doing them.
we always had sex when we wanted really and didnt do it just at what i thought would be my fertile time, we just had sex a few times a week as sperm survives 5 days anyway.

sorry to hear about your M/C and good luck with trying to conceive again x
