hello Ladies

Just passsed my 14 week mark and decided to head on over here with you ladies!! I had a cerclage put in yesterday and I'm in a great deal of pain when walking and laying down (as long as I'm sitting upright, I'm ok lol). I had lots of scar tissue and my cervix wasn't healed from the last surgery.
A lil History:

I had most of my cervix removed when I was 5 weeks pregnant because I had cervical cancer. (my doc didn't know I was pregnant ) They removed all my cancer, but I'm in deep shit now because baby could fall out. I also have Protein S defiency and get blood clots often, and hypothyroidism because I had my thyroid removed 3 years ago.

damn, when I write it all down I look like a sicko . . .lol

Anyways if anyone has questions or advice I would be glad to take them!!!!

Hiya just wanted to say, you poor thing!! Hope you are on the mend and this baby stays where it should be until time :) Make sure you take it easy this pregnancy too hun xx

Hiya, just wanted to say that I too have a cerclage in , it was done at 13.5 weeks..As you can see it is still holding and I am due my little boy on the 5th Jan :) I have had quite a few UTI's but all ok...just make sure they test you for infection as often as possible. Wishing you all the best :) xxx

Hi love - wow, you really have been under a lot of stress recently hun - brave lady.

Any cerclage support you need, please ask. I recently had the twins at 38wks with a shirodkar stitch in place, and it held under extreme pressure and baby weight. After having it placed at 12wks, I was physically ill for 3wks. I felt really grim, achey, weak and in pain. I couldn't walk upright up the stairs from that day on, and peeing felt like knives were being pushed into my bladder. The shirodkar is sewn thru the vaginal walls and bladder tho, so we think that is where the pain came from.

It is normal to be in discomfort after the surgery, just take it as a sign that you should rest as much as possible for the duration hun. I am a believer in rest with a weak/short cervix, and for me it worked.

Much love, and please keep in touch x

Thanks ladies, I am always apprecitive of the support. Some days it's all that helps me to keep on truckin'

Lizzie, I spoke with you on another thread about cerclage and weak cervix. Your insight, experience, and advice is always appreciated!!
