hi everyone,

i have recently had a suspected miscarriage, due to alot of bleeding (nearly 3 weeks) and tissue being passed. in my examination i told the doctor i always bleeding after sex and randomly in the month, i am on the pill. she thinks i may have a polyp but she couldnt see one because of a lot of discharge. i disagree as i am only 19, never had children yet.
i think it is more likely a cervical erosion as my mam had one in her second pregnancy and they run in families, can be caused by the pill.
also cervical cancer runs in my family and this is really making me worry! please help.

I don't know about polyps but I would recommend you ask for a cervical smear test as a precaution. I know the guidelines are now 25 but you can ask for smears as you recognised problems, if anything it will put your mind at ease. Best of luck. xx

thanks :)
i definatly will, thing is i dont see an end to this bleeding so i may have to cancel my appointment for this thursday :/

hey hun, I have been goin through similar for a year now. Randon bleeding during sex mainly. It has been on and off but in may it got to the stage where it was everytime and quite a lot of blood (it was quite embarrasing). This made me decide enough was enough and went to my GP. I had swabs, smear test and blood tests etc and all came back normal. I was refered to gynacology and have been to my hospital appointment today as it happens. The doctor used a camera to check further inside for polyps etc and he even put a big screen up which enables me to view the result myself (hehe). Its ended up that I do have cervical erosion and as you say it can be caused through takin the pill. I thought this was strange as I have been on 2 different pills (microgynon 30 and now micronor) and it has happened with BOTH, however I was assusred today that its nothin to worry about.. it may clear up, it may not. I can either live with it or if it is uncomfy or a lot of blood etc and becomes a nuicence I can sorta have the top layer of cells burnt away and new cells/skin will grow back normally. If I was you hun I would go get your smears etc done first. Main thing, dont worry. I worried myself sick... theres really no point stressing. The biggest thing is actually going to the GP. It is more than likely the same as what I have. Good luck and if u wanna chat anytime, let me know xxxx

Hi, in July 2008 I was found to have lumps on my cervix along with cervicitis an cervical erosion - all because of the pill (although the doctors do not like to admit to this) - after becoming concerned from bleeding during sex
As a precaution, I had to have a biopsy of these lumps to see if it was cervical cancer
It was Day Surgery, no anaesthetic, and I'm not going to lie, was incredibly uncomfortable, making me feel very queasy. Can't say it was particularly painful, just a little sharp at times.
Anyway, they removed all of the lumps, and they were found out to be polyps.
I have a speculum check with my GP (specialises in gynae, so I struck lucky with her!) and so far since no polyps have been found - but I have to say, I haven't been on the pill for a sustained period since then, as I found out my body can't cope with the hormones and the pill really fucked up my body, regardless of brand.

I hope this helps and puts your mind at rest, and if you want any more info, just PM me :) xx

Hello

Although probably fine. Get it investigated and push for further tests. I'm not sure what tey would be... a coloscopy?
