Hi all

Hope you can help me....................

We changed Jasmine to SMA hungrier baby last Friday(she was 12 weeks old), so she would sleep longer and go longer between feeds.

Well when we started on the blue top, she has started to finish all the bottle every feed......we only give her 120ml(4oz). She didnt used to finish her bottle on the gold top..........I am so confused.

Sorry for TMI, her stools have gone quite solid today and I think she is constipated, I do give her cooled boiled water inbetween feeds but this does not seem to be helping.

We use Dr Brown bottles for every feed too.

What can I do..........I feel so sorry for her all because I have changed her milk, I feel awful now and want to change back to the gold top but I don't want to go backwards. I am not going to change back to gold top so I really need to know how to go forward.

She will be 3 months old in 4 days.

Thank you.

I don't know because I haven't reached this stage with Georgia yet, but I would imagine if it was a direct result of the mlk change it would have happened before now if you changed her milk on Friday.

We changed Georgia to Aptimil when we came home from the hospital and we had bad results almost instantly, we had gone back to the SMA we were given in the hospital within 12 hours.

Maybe it's just a one off? We have this quite a lot with Georgia and she is still on the gold top, and sometimes cooled boiled water helps and sometimes it doesn't. I know what you mean when you say you feel bad about it as it breaks my heart when she squeezes and strains and nothing happens.

I googled this and there was some info about using rectal thermometers  and other things, but one thing I did try was just rubbing vaseline on her back passage when doing a nappy change. I think it helps a bit, so you could maybe try that - obviously don't go internal just on the outside.

Good luck, it will sort itself out :hugs:
