This is the latest thing that I'm baffled by - I have no idea what I'm looking for!

I think bags with pram strap attaching clips are a good idea, I think anything with a clip for my keys is a bonus, plus a choice of carrying strap; so I'm not limited to carrying it on my shoulder?

Has anyone got any tips on what are useful characteristics to look out for or can recommend a particular style or sort of bag?

Thanks in advance :D xx

Space, something you are willing to carry for about a year. Seperate space for your bits, something oh would willingly use.

I've never had a specific changing bag, I've had about 6 various styles similar to thie above linked.
Xx

Space is a big thing for me, i put my stuff in there aswell plus few bits for DS. Something OH will use. And different straps.
I have a curley keyring on my keys, the one in the plastic coating and i clip it to the inside of my bags.
We decided to get a normal bag from primark, after we got through 2 changing bags and im still using it now. Its held up so well. Ill probably just buy a hand bag organiser and stick that in. Its huge, and a charcoal grey fabric thats washable. Has about 6 pockets/ compartments, and its from the mens section, was a complete bargain too at £12.

I originally bought (a few years ago) this really cute diaper bag, its a grey and lime paisley brocade fabric...but when i went to pack for baby's hospital bag, it didnt really fit all that i wanted to take in it...i ended up scouring ebay and got a really good deal (about 35.00 including shipping costs!) on a ju ju be packabe...its brown outside with champagne inside...has a "mommy pocket" with a key clip and cellphone pocket, memory foam changing pad, a pacifier pod (that clips on the outside...easy to access) and it has a shoulder strap (long enough to rock it as a messenger style carry) and also backpack straps (both with memory foam padding also!)..DH has mentioned that he would be ok with carrying this bag also...so its pretty neutral...alot of their bags are pricey if you go to their site..but you can usually get some good deals if you look and stalk some of the listings...

Here is what i have currently in the bag:
Three receiving blankets, three newborn onesies, three 0-3 onesies, three onesies with designs on them, a going home outfit, a pack of headbands, a thick minky blanket, four pairs of socks, two pacifiers, a handful of newborn disposables, a handful of size 1 disposables, breast pads, three burp cloths, two bibs..and i still have room to throw in a muslin blanket or two

I have a really bad back so went for a changing bag that converts to rucksack so if I did need to carry it, it would be on two shoulders not just on one. I find that "messenger style" type bag really gives me backache, and I'm terrible at carrying too much in changing bags! It's great for space as well, and still easy to clip onto a pram or convert to messenger style carry if needed.

Got a super cute, very spacious, practical one from Vera Bradley, in the Clemintine pattern. It's really high quality material that will hold up with washing. (https://www.verabradley.com/category/Category/Mom-and-Baby/643/pc/638.uts)

I also got a matching wallet-type thing (carry it all wristlet) that can hold a cell phone & all the wallets items. I use the little metal clip to loop my keys on, then fasten it the the diaper bag (or just carry that instead of my giant purse!)

I got one from next that was ok, but despite it being huge to carry it didn't actually hold much. Hubby git me a pink lining one which I wouldn't have bought myself as they are normally very expensive but I must say it's worth the money it's brilliant. Fits loads in yet doesn't seem massive, and the compartments are brilliant too. It's always nice and organised. There's an offer on them at the mo courtesy of bounty https://www.bounty.com/bountyoffers...cebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=PLO_bag

https://www.pinklining.com/uk/bramley-tote-cream-bows-on-peppermint I have just got this one. Not used it yet bit it is lovely and spaciuos loads of little pockets. Only thinh is yhe straps seem a little short for pram but cant test that yet as i havent got it yet can always get clips or a long shoulder strap in brown/beige to match. Oh and threre is no way DH will carry it but tough he can use the old black one from last time :)

We don't have a change bag yet but I think lots of space and something DH will also carry is a must! I've had a look around but nothing has appealed to me at all! I may just end up using one of my (many) non-change-bag bags that I've collected over the years!

I know this isn't for everyone because some women prefer nicer girly things, but my Spiderman backpacks I bought for $4 each at the dollar store when "back-to-school" items went on clearance has worked really well, lol. Lots of separate pockets, easy to carry on 1 or 2 arms, holds a lot, and a big carabiner lets it attach to a stroller on the fly. I keep one emergency bag in the trunk with spare everything (including clothes for me and non-perishable foods/bottled water) and treat the other like a normal diaper bag.
ETA: and hubby always wants to carry it when we're all out, so another win.

I've just got a back pack that was probably aimed at a secondary school girl...big enoug for loads of books..... or nappies!! I also have the free change bag from boots, which I took the change mat out of and then put in my back pack.

I don't see the need to be limited by a "change bag", when any big bag will do as long as you pop a change mat in it. Gives you loads more choice and also costs a fraction of the price.

I would have them all if I could, ordered a purse to match mine last week :) im not even that girly I just really like them

I really shouldn't have clicked on the pink lining link, I have 2 already but could be easily talked into a third

They are fab though, very cute, loads of space and practical

I bought my pinklining bag from precious little ones at half price! :0

I have a beautiful baby bjorn hardshell bag, seems to fit what i need nicely! X

I used the free boots bag until the zip broke after 18 months (I always overfilled it) then I got this one which I really like

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0058T3P0K/ref=mp_s_a_1_22?qid=1393445622&sr=8-22&pi=AC_SX110_SY165

Now I'm using a lightening McQueen kiddies backpack when I'm just going to playgroup as it's easier.

big but not too big and a zipper closure (I am constantly throwing mine into the car or stroller). Adding a changing pad is key (most come with one).
