So I'm thinking about changing keelans formula but not 100% sure if I should! He's currently on cow and gate and feeds fab, he takes 3-4oz every 3-4 hours but I think he has a bit of constipation. He's my first and I've never looked after a baby before so never experienced baby poop but his poop seems a little too firm, sometimes when he goes its just a very very tiny amount or he'll spend a long time straining, pulling his legs up, eventually crying and doing a large poop, again to me it seems to firm. I'm thinking of switching to hipp, do you think I should? If so, how do I go about switching? Thanks :)

My baby is exactly the same on cow and gate could of written this myself really interested in replys x

Maybe if he is happy on Cow and Gate apart from the constipation, try giving him a small amount of water? 1oz once or twice a day should help him. If this doesnt help you could try changing brand, or you could try Comfort milk, which is specially made to treat colic and constipation. Cow and Gate, Aptamil and SMA all do their own Comfort milk formula. xxx

My LO was on cow and gate comfort after being constipated while I was breast feeding and he was fantastic on it :hugs:

He's still on the c&g and things seem much better now. He seemed to be having real trouble not long after posting this so I took his nappy off, rubbed his tum and cycled his legs and he did a rediculously massive poop. Since then he's been having a good size poop 1/2 times a day, they're no longer as firm too. I think he just had a bit of a blockage as he was getting used eating, pooping etc.

i think sometimes it takes their tummys a while to adjust to formula. I had 2 weeks of hell with sophie where she had trapped gas, constipated and was generally unhappy, but as you did i cycled her legs upped her water and when it got really bad I used coloxyl drops. She adjusted after a little while and never looked back.
