Changing formula?

My LO has been FF from the start. She has been on Cow & Gate. She seems to get constipated a lot, she's straining and can't get anything out and gets frustrated. She usually has one dirty nappy a day, but when it comes then there's so much it nearly always leaks out. A lot of the time you get her all cleaned up and new nappy on and then there's more. She's always happier once she's got it all out, but sometimes it takes all day. She also suffers from trapped wind sometimes too. Do you think I should change her formula? If so, what too? Also, do you just swap over straight away or do you need to do it gradually?

We went through a good few months of only ever doing one poo a day (at one point it was every 2 and a bit days) - at least you could predict the poonami with some degree of accuracy, and the leaking everywhere thing... yep went through that (thank GOD for weaning poos that at least are somewhat more containable) but it was when we were at an arkward stage between fitting nappy sizes comfortably.

Had a similar problem with C&G, he was going every other day, really straining and getting upset when he did go. I posted on here asking about changing him over, then he did a massive poop 2 days later and thought things had got better, nope he went 2 days with pooping so I switched him over to hipp, within 24hrs of changing him we've had 2/3 poops a day and don't know hes gone until we get a whiff as he longer strains and gets upset
