I'm planning a home birth and wanted to put a waterproof sheet on our king size bed but they seem really expensive for something which will only be used once. What are/did you use to protect your bed?

Thanks!

Just use a shower curtain or simillar with old sheets over the top then just chuck it all away after :) also the MW will have the absorbant squares to use as well. X

I bought a couple of packs of cheap plastic dust sheets from my local hardware shop. Cost about £3 in total and did the job brilliantly.

I was scrolling down to reply with exactly that. Go to the paint supply section - they sell plastic sheeting SUPER cheap, and you can just fold it around your bed underneath your sheets and toss it guilt-free. Worked like a charm!

Plastic dust sheets - what wasn't mucky has now been used to "contain" our loft insulation to stop in getting into the stored stuff!
