I know it's the Daily Mail, but just came across this article:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...-surprising-results.html?ICO=most_read_module

Got me thinking, do you really get what you pay for these days?? Just look at the Fish Fingers.... Tesco has 64% fish, whereas Birds Eye have 8% fish!

another daily fail special

i buy birds eye fish finegrs and they are 100% cod.

im sure you get a cheaper version, but you get what you pay for imo

i wouldnt feed my kids the fingers with 64% fish over the ones with 8%

i buy the fingers with 100%

there is a choice

I see what you are saying, and I don't buy either, I make them! Just looking at the salt content etc of the other items there though and it makes you wonder what you are paying for..... Heinz Ketchup 2.2g salt and 23.7g sugar per 100g and Asda own brand 1.1g salt and 19g sugar - that's quite a big difference!

i guess you are paying for taste, as heinz ketchup is ok and asda own brand tastes like cack?

i dunno i think its rediculous to compare brands with value ranges on a healthy option basis as that isnt what the difference is about

the healthy option would be not to eat fish fingers or pizza in the first place

Ive found cheaper/own brand food is alot lower in salt then more expensive brands. Most things dont taste much differnt

I actually prefer some cheaper brands to named brand foods.

Like tinned spaghetti the Heinz one the sauce is really sweet where as the morrisons own brand is not, hienz one has more salt Aswell!

Got to say I agree about the fish fingers I always get the 100%ones of them x

& who wants to eat neon custard? gag.
