This may sound really goofy, but...

Sometimes when I lay on my right side, I get this kind of cold, achy pain in the center of my upper chest. It doesn't really feel like a gas pain or reflux, but I may be wrong. It never happened before I was pregnant. Has anyone else experienced this? I have a hiatal hernia and wondered if that might be the cause.

Of course, I'm jumping to all the worst conclusions: heart problems, lung cancer, etc.

Thanks!

If it only happens in a certain position then it is most likely to be muscular pain :) You may have stretched a muscle!

If its any help. A friend of mine who is an ER nurse told me that she often gets patients complaining of chest pain. Most young adults do not have anything of serious concern and almost 99% of the time it is of benign origins - usually muscular :) So do NOT worry! If it gets worse or spreads then do go to your gp, but even then, think positive :)

I get chest pain a lot. My muscles in the back or shoulder are like pulled or pinched or something (just not right lets put it that way) and it effects the muscles in the chest, therefore you get chest pain. Do you mostly feel it when you're breathing in?

Yes, it's always when I'm inhaling.

It might be just a muscle then. Have you tried arching your back when that happens? You should try it. I did and a lot of times it made it better. If you're still concerned then you might wanna go see a doctor, just to be sure. I hope you feel better soon! :winkwink:

I get a cold feeling at the onset of a panic attack or when I feel anxious x

I think it must have been a pulled muscle because after a few days, it just went away (thank goodness!). Thanks for all of your help!
