Ok ladies. Hopefully someone can help me out. I have been having small contractions... wasn't told they were Braxton hicks. But I am assuming they are...since I am preparing. Well I am now starting to get pain in my chest when I have one...I feel like I can't breathe and I get dizzy. Does anyone have this issue? What do u do to help it? I see my ob on Thursday. So I'll ask then. Just looking for advice now. Thanks! :(

Hey hun, I get this too. Not dizzy, but I can feel it tightening in my chest when it starts too. I don't really have any advice for you cause I haven't asked about it either, but it's not overly uncomfortable for me. Hope you're okay. :hugs:

I get this! Can't say if its normal but its certainly uncomfortable. Feels like the bottom of my ribs goes all tight and can't expand properly! Hope this doesn't continue with full blown contractions! Can't imagine being in labour and feeling like I can't breathe!

I have the same, and had this in my last pregnancy too.
Midwife said it was 'just' intense BH!
I feel like my chest gets really tight and my face too as if im being strangled! My cheeks feel very hot too! Breathing through them helps which is good practise for labour contractions, in labour however the pressure and tightening is replaced by pain, the tightness didnt really bother me in labour, maybe cos i was concentratin on getting through the pain.

**forgot to mention i did also have an irritated uterus and was told it maybe down to that??!**

I've also been getting this the last few weeks. I get a tight chest, palpitations, hot feeling in face...I heard it's because when the uterus contracts it pushes on the main blood vessel behind it (the one that you can't lie on your back because of) and that makes your heart rate increase... only had it the last few weeks - assume it's because my uterus is now heavy enough to compress the vessel. Have been having BH since 8 weeks though :P

This is exactly what BH feel like for me, it feels like my whole abdomen and chest go insanely tight. This isn't how real contractions felt with my first at all so don't worry x
