Does this sound like chickenpox?

Okay well basically around 7th june my son bad these fluid filled spot things on his body. Only a couple. We went on holiday on 9th june. 2 days later it spread to his face, back, legs etc.. not overly covered but a good amount was there, all the same fluid filled. Then they all crusted over and every single one had like a scab over them. Now they have slowly started to fall off, only a few remaining on his scalp and on his back.

Yesterday i saw one fluid filled spot on dd's nappy area. This morning she had around 10 on her back, couple on her face, 1 on her scalp. All same fluid filled and red. Also today the same thing happened to my sister (we live in the same house)

My mum says its 100% chickenpox as my brothers had it when they were younger and it was exactly the same. I asked a pharmacist when i was on holiday about my sons but she didn't know.

Anyway does this sound like chickenpox?

yep 100% chicken pox.
Please bear in mind you need to keep your little ones away from other littles/pregnant women and newborns when they have the chicken pox. ideally you shoudl keep them indoors until they are all crusted over.

it can be deadly for newborns. cause serious compliations for pregnant ladies and some children may have immunity problems xx

Thank you. Yes i have kept her indoors since it happened. Will not take her anywhere or let anyone over until they have crusted. Just wanted to double check it was 100% chickenpox! Its so sad seeing all these angry red spots on her little face!

its horrid but should hopefully only last 7-10 days before shes not infectious anymore. Unfortunately it can take forever for the marks to go. my three boys have lots of marks still from theirs.

you should ask friends if they want a chicken pox party :haha: A lot of people said to me if they could have got here theyd have brought their children over to try catch them lol xx

Yep, chicken pox. Cannot believe pharmacist could not recognise chicken pox!
