Morning ladies,
My first post on this section - have been a single mum for just over a month now. Finished with my partner because of total lack of support, and him being verbally abusive to me (loads of posts on here about him!)
So, I have been trying to set up child maintenance so as I know what is coming in etc, and the Child Maintenance calculator is working out that FOB has to pay £78 a week...how accurate is this figure in comparison to what actually happens? He is self employed and only declares half of what he earns to the tax man, so the £78 is based on what he declares (£27k). When I spoke to him yesterday he basically said I am a greedy cow, and im not getting it and to wait and see what this years wages will be. i.e. hes dropping them even more.
How does it all work? Is this calculator, off of the direct.gov website accurate?
He keeps saying he is going to go for custody too, which left me in such a state yesterday. I have had post natal depression, which thankfully, I think I have recovered from, but he says that given my "medical history of mental illness" he can have my boy if he wants and he intends to try and take him off of me because of me wanting £78 for him...could he even do that?! I am a good mum, and the post natal depression never made me a bad mum, just made my hate my ex-partner even more for never being there
Sorry, its a bit of a ramble, but I have been thrown in at the deep end and I am still not entirely sure of anything right now!
