My mum has said from the beginning that she can always have LO on a Friday.

So I asked MIL on Sunday what day she could have LO & she said Friday - there you go I've said it!

I mentioned it to my mum today, who can request other days off in work, but it's not guaranteed.

So now I don't know what to do!?

They could take it in turns to do every other Friday, and I would have to find childcare / nursery for two days a week (I only intended putting her in one day a week)

Or my mum has her rota four weeks in advance and if she requests it, could maybe get a Monday or Thursday off, but I would have to ask my bosses if I could let them know four weekly what I could work

tricky situation. I would sit down with both mums and explain the situation to them and ask if there is any way either of them could guarentee to do another day per week.

another thing to consider is that some childcare places (i.e my daughters nursery) make you do a total of 1.5 days per week minimum so its worth checking that side of things too before you get your mil and mum to commit.

Thank you. We are just in process of moving, but once that's sorted, I'm on operation nursery to find out exact costs, required days, suitable times etc

We had real trouble finding a nursery who would accept my DD for one extended session (7:30am - 2:30pm) a week. They all said she has to do at least two sessions a week. That would probably be something to look into first. Good luck!
