Chlomid Round 1 :( no success! NEWBIE HERE!

Hey everyone,

I am new to this kind of stuff, but decided I should reach out to some people that may be going through what my husband and I are going through. I am feeling pretty alone w/ alot of things due to the fact that ALL of my friends have kids, and none of them had any struggle getting pregnant and I jsut dont feel they understand. And its very hard for me to talk to them, so I decied to reach out to a forum/support group.

I was diagnosed w/ PCOS, and have been on Metformin for 5 months. I just finished my first round of Clomid 50mg CD5-9, and recieved the results from my first progesterone test which was taken on CD26 which were "not Consistent" with ovulation. I will be starting round two of Clomid 100mg next cycle. I guess I just need to know if this is normal, or I guess I need success stories, cause I jsut recieved the results today, and I am feeling defeated and discouraged!!!

Sara - I completely understand not havng any friends who understand. I just found out all in one week that 6 friends are having babies. A few of them are pretty far along but they were hiding it from me bc they didnt want me to hurt. Which was nice but then on the other hand it hurts my feelings that they feel the need to hide it from me.

But with the concern about being bummed up to 100mg. It is very common for the lowest dose to not work for some. Some bodies just need more of the clomid to react. Hopefully 100 will be the right amount. You are in my thoughts.

AFM- I am in the TTW of my 2 round of clomid. I take 50mg days 5-9. I did O but did not result in a BFP on the first round. I hope this is my month!....I had a few friends tell me that they see Oct. to be the month... the people that said that dont know eachother and said it in the spring and summer time. Kinda wierd I hope they are right.

Stevi-Thank you for your response. Its definelty a relief to know im not alone w/ the friend thing. That is sad that they felt the need to hide it from you!! Im sorry that happened.

I hope everything works out w/ you and that is nice that you get to stay on the 50/mg of clomid. Also, do you have PCOS, or just not able to ovulate on your own?

I'll keep faith that October is the month for you!!! Also, I will hope November is the month for me!!

I have PCOS too, TTC #1, and was put on clomid to help me ovulate (I have no idea how long ago my body actually did ovulate!) In the last 6 months it hasn't at all. I was also told that clomid works around 80% of the time... but very little actually ovulate on the 50mg starting dose, so don't panic.

I was deemed clomid resistant after 3 rounds increasing my dosages up to 200mg and have just had ovarian drilling done to see if that helps me. However, my friend who has PCOS fell pregnant on 100mg with her second child and it has taken her up to 250mg this time to ovulate on it TTC their third bub. Everyone is different, just don't lose hope just yet!

Hi Sara - I don't have PCOS but was on Clomid for the last three months. I think it's normal for the dosage to change as your doc has to figure out which dosage will produce the best response. I started at 50 mg for the first two months - my RE couldn't detect ovulation (or at least not a very good one) so he upped my dosage to 100 mg this month, which resulted in several follicles and a definite ovulation. Unfortunately for me I ended up with a cyst - so I'm now on BCP for 21 days. But at least I know I did ovulate properly. Since my progesterone level was not where he wanted it to be my RE has decided that he will change me to Femara next cycle if the cyst is gone. I'm hoping that you have better luck than I did with the Clomid.

hi i just started today my first round of 100mg. i took 50mg for two cycles but nothing happened. Took nothing this month and had a cd21 blood test and I hadn't ovulated, so the doc upped the dose to 100mg. I'm quite hopeful for this month, finally something is happening and in the right direction.

Hi Sara. I have pcos too. 50mg didn't work for me. I guess dx started with low dosage to see if uterine lining is fine and the side effects of clomid are minimal. Went up to 100mg twice, worked well. O on cd 16 both. Not bad.
The first 100 didnt result in pregnancy, onviously. Now the 2nd one...will know in 3 days if af arrives or not. Hopefully not.

Hi Sholi. Af due today but no sign of af yet. Sooo nervousss.
I haven't tested yet. I'll test on Wed when dx comes home.

Hi girls,
No luck for Clomid round 3, got af this morning. This month got symptoms that are different than my normal pms. Just like last month on clomid round 2. I guess clomid mess up my symptoms again.
So tmrw will start clomid round 4. Still 100mg day 2-6.

Thanks girls. I knew the road to conceive rocky for me. Not only I have pcos but dh also have low count, so I guess we can only pray and start again.

Good Luck with everything disturbia!! It sucks when AF comes expecially if she isnt on time, I think I start to get my hopes up. Im currently waiting for AF as I jsut finished provera on friday. Hopefully I get it soon, caue then day 3 of AF i have to get my U/S to see If i have cysts. So hopefully she comes soon.....Im getting anxious for the U/S and to start 100 Mg of clomid!

Hi ladies..im on cd17 of round 2 of clomid and i had a bleed today it was bright red blood i had ewcm days 13 +14 so i think im only ovulating now..any ideas?

I would call your doctor. I had some spotting after my AF stopped but it was dark brown. I called my doctor and she said it was alright as long as it wasnt bright red. I dont want to freak you out but just give them a call.
