HI hun - I do know something about it because I was tested for it after intense itching without rash at 22wks.

It's called obstetric cholestasis and results from liver being under strain in pregnancy and not processing bile salts adequately. There is a UK support group which know far more about it than me - OC support UK, and they're really prompt at responding to any questions you may have about it.

As I understand it, it is manageable if picked up and treated. If you do have it, they'll monitor you regularly, and deliver baby a couple of weeks early if your body isn't stabilising itself. There are many women who have full-term healthy babies who have the condition, and once you have delivered, it will go away again.

Good luck - and remember, you may not have it anyway :hugs:

I had cholestasis and was induced at 38 weeks. There is a long thread about it as a sticky in the third tri forum. I only found out about it from reading that. You'll find it useful x.
