Hi all,

We're in the process of being referred to a fertility clinic for ICSI, and struggling to choose.

For the people who are in the process or have gone through the process of IVF, how did you choose your clinic?

Did you go to open evenings?
Did you compare success rates?

Our problem is that we went to an open evening in Salisbury and really liked the consultant there. Our hospital also refers to Oxford Fertility Clinic, but they don't do open evenings.

Does anyone have any experience of either of the two, particularly Oxford?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Peartree
just wanted to say I am going through the same process and its really difficult Check out the hfea web site as it is good for results etc
I was going to consider argc in london til i read a review of price so I am looking at care manchester or scan health in norway I live in northern ireland so will have to consider hotels etc as well
keep me posted and good luck x

Can anyone else help out with this?
I am living in Stratford upon Avon and it is Warwickshire PCT and only 1 go.
Has anyone any experience of clinics in the Midlands or Oxfordshire please?

Searching on hfea website they say my nearest (withing 40miles) are:

BMI Priory Hospital
Centre for Reproductive Medicine, Coventry
Birmingham Women's Hospital
Good Hope Hospital NHS Trust
Midland Fertility Services
Oxford Fertility Unit
CARE Northampton

I realise you can look up stuff like live birth rates but i would like to know peoples experiences.

For those who don't know I am 37 and DH is 32. No male factor problems but I only have one working tube (I also have moderate endo that I doesn't bother me and a fibroid that shouldn't be affect our chances.

Sorry cant give experiences on those specific clinics but we are in the process of choosing, well we have 90% made up our minds.

I did look at success rates, which was obviously the main factor. The one we chose (Bourn Hall) has a 50% so v.good. Havent been to open evening yet but we chose it on practicalities more than anything. The others were in London and theres no parking. Had to think about coming out of there after EC and ET and stuff..dont fancy having all those parking costs just wanna jump in the car right next to the clinic. Also, Bourn Hall is a lovely mansion type thing not a hospital so I thought it would help me feel more relaxed. The drive is also nice, all through country and fields. Having to battle the M25 in traffic, say, would stress me and DH. So although its a bit further that was the basis for our decision. We will confirm it when we go to an open evening.
