So I had my 20 week scan today and the technician said that he had found both of the above, he said that it as nothing to worry about and that although not normal they are both common. He said that had there been any more abnormalities then I would have gone for a follow up but as nothing else was found then all should be fine.
I came away fine as I thought if there was anything to worry about then he would have said. I probably shouldn't have but since being back I have googled the both of them and both seem to be soft markers for both downs and trisomy 18.
Now if baby only had the one then I wouldn't worry but he doesn't he has both, just looking for advice really and to see if anyone else has had the same.

I wouldn't worry. The cysts are extremely common and usually resolve. My daughter had 4 with one been quiet large. She also had 2 soft markets for Down syndrome but they said because my NT scan at 12weeks was low risk even with 2 soft markers the risk remained low (1:12000).

Thanks, I know it's my own fault as I googled, I really wasn't worried when I came out as the sonographer didn't seem to be, he had gone over the brain and heart especially, quite a few times and the scan did last longer than any of my other 20 week ones so I'm assuming he would have found any other markers if they was present. :)

At our private gender scan at 18+4 the tech told us she noticed two cysts on Baby's brain that we should mention To our ob at our next app.

Naturally we freaked out and googled everythin we could about it. Everythin I read said that they usually disappear by 28-30Weeks.

At our 22 week app we had our anatomy scan done and they were completely gone. Also our down syndrom test at 15 Weeks came back negative so that was a great reassurance.

Just remember that even though they are markers they find commonly in Downs or trisomy babies, the research also shows the opposite as well. It's the tech's job To let u know what he finds, but as he said it's quite common and they will monitor until they very likely, disappear.
