Chosen our name...what do u think? Honest opinions plz!

Hi all, well we have our name picked- Elliot James (James being the middle name not a double barrelled first name like John James in BB lol!). Elliot has just always been a name I've really liked, I don't know why....James is my OHs name. And OH seems really happy with it so so-far it's stuck since 16 weeks.

I don't know any Elliots so I don't have any negetive or positive connotations with the name. I was just wondering what are ur first thoughts when u hear the name Elliot??? Do u immediately think boys name??? (I worry it might sound a little feminine) is it a bit of a geeky name??? We love the name and I doubt anything can be said to change my mind lol but would be interesting to hear ppls thoughts on it as it isnt a popular name around here. Thanks!

i know 2 boys called elliot.... one is a bit of a geek the other is absolutly gorgeous and a complete ladies man...... lol nothing to do with the names, its suits both of them to be honest x

I think its lovely. There is a little boy in my son's music class named Elliot, he's the only one I know. I don't think its feminine at all. Well I guess there is that woman in Scrubs with that name, but it wouldn't put me off using it for a boy.

I love the name elliot, and wanted it for a boy.... OH said no though cause babies surname will be Taylor, there for his initials would be E.T. that coupled with actually being called Elliot was just mean!!!

i do think Elliot James sounds gorgeous!!! sounds really classic!!

I do like the name, but i have to say the first thing that springs to mind when i hear the name is E.T. If i bloke that out i think Elliot is a lovely name but thats just what pops into my head at first x

Elliot - I think of the guy in Hollyoaks, the girl in Scrubs and the boy in ET.
I really like the name - it's on our top ten list for a boy.

Thanks everyone- yeah a few ppl have said to me about ET but I didn't put 2 and 2 together, I guess I haven't seen it as often as others...hopefully it'll be a dated film by the time he starts school hehe x

I love the name Elliot for a boy and it was our first choice if we had a boy but we are having a girlie!

I know an Elliot who is almost 3, and he is a lovely little boy! Although he does get called Elly and up until recently had the most beautiful golden curls, I was glad when these were chopped off as he was starting to look abit feminine! But fab name!!
