Hello, I am slow to post this as we have had a hectic few weeks.

My little boy was born on Xmas Eve just after half 5 in the evening, only 35 minutes after getting to the hospital. My labour and birth was very quick, there was no time for pain relief or even to be examined. I ended up having my baby in the assessment room and shocking my husband and the midwives.

They wanted to put the monitors on to check baby's and my heartrate etc but i was so in so much agony lying on the bed-i was crying in pain that i needed to get up. Baby was back to back-which was why i was in so much pain with my back.

I was told that i would need a epidural as my labour would most likely take hours because of the position of the baby. But my baby had different ideas! I was left in the room by myself with my hubby, they were going to book me in for the epidural. I felt pressure down below, then my waters broke. Everything then happened so quickly-my son was born minutes later. I couldn't stop him coming so fast-my body just took over.

I hadn't even made it to the delivery room, been examined and the lady was rushing to get gloves on to catch my son.

He was 6lb 10oz and we have named him Lewis :)

wow thats amazing that your body just wanted to get him out so fast, congrats hun and I love the name Lewis :)

Congratulations! I would love for my next labour (if we have another) to be that quick! xx
