Would it be really bad to put my Christmas tree up tomorrow, I don't normally put it up until Dec 1st, however we are going to our caravan to close it down for the winter and won't be back until Nov 30th, then I will have lots of washing and sorting to do.

I have always believed it is bad luck to put decorations before December, what do you all think?

If you think you'll come back to loads of extra housework then why not.
However if it was me I would wait as I like to have a good clean and sort out beforehand so would end up doing that on the 30th and the tree on the 1st

Thanks for your reply, sorry I was not clear the washing and sorting will be stuff we have taken out of the caravan. I have cleaned the house ready for when we get back, so it is Christmas tree ready.

Ah ok... I guess would coming back home with all your stuff and having the already tree up be less stress then coming back, sorting everything out then putting up the tree.
Just do what's easiest, wouldn't worry about bad luck or it being too early (no one is at home anyway) X

I agree, do what's easiest. Don't worry about bad luck - my tree is going up this Friday (last Friday in November every year) and a couple of ladies on here have already got theirs up :)

Thanks everyone, I am going to put it up and if I get loads of bad luck I know who to blame:haha:

I personally wouldn't, ours usually goes up 12 days before. The past two years we have done it earlier but I hate it and think it's a bit tacky having them up too early, almost commercialising Christmas. We are doing 12 days before again I think.

I would never put mine up in November!

Haha yay.
Well I will tell you that one year I did it even earlier I think, and then the whole tree fell over while I was at uni and half my baubles smashed...my dad said it was the universes way of telling me it was too early to put my tree up! Haha :haha: (I put it straight back up though...)

Lol that dosent sound promising, tree on floor, broken baubles. I shall await the black cloud to descend over my head x

My Birthday is Nov 7. My tree went up Nov 8 much to hubby's disgust... But I take it down Boxing Day too unless my sister is going to be here several days after then I leave it up for my niece and nephew. I don't see the point leaving something up when there is nothing left under it. I've never had any bad luck - unless you count the year I purchased it when I constant had 3 damn kittens up the b*****d.

That just made me laugh, I bet it was carnage, it has reminded me of when I first got this tree 10 years ago (still looks new) I had a umbrella cockatoo called rooster he hated that tree he would dive bomb it knocking the star at the top off, sometimes while doing it he would slip down the tree and he was clinging on with both wings wrapped around it. So funny, He died 5 years ago, but every time I get the branches out of the box I always find one of his little white feathers. Always brings a smile.

I'm anal as heck about the tree that not even the kids are allowed to decorate it. They will be getting their own. I've seen some 90cm ones for $5 so will pick one up and they can have that. Mean I know. :haha:

It drove me NUTS. Because they kept knocking off decorations I had to keep redecorating the tree. Their claws kept ripping paper on presents when they got knocked out by each other so I would unwrap and wrap again (told you I'm anal). I lost track of how many times I re-did the tree and re-wrapped presents that year. OMG, your cockatiel. Having those little memories must bring comfort though. <3 I have one and she's not allowed out of her cage at Christmas. She's just as bad as the damn cats. :haha:

It's never too early for a tree! I take as much Christmas as I can get, ours is up. :D
