We're going to need a bigger car with no.3 on the way. I have been looking at citroen xsara picassos, but we need to know if 3 car seats will fit across the 3 back seats first. My eldest will be 4 in september, and we don't want her in a booster seat, so she has a front facing car seat, my youngest is 7 months and is in a rear facing seat but will be in a front facing seat the same as my eldest by the time baby comes.

Any help and even pictures of the seats in would be so so amazing!

I know we looked at a citroen c4 grand picasso and 3 seats will fit in one of those. We ended up going for a vw touran.

As long as there are 3 full size individual seats in the back you should be fine.

yes i had xsara it has 'three' seats. Plenty room for 3 car seats. Ive got scenic now it has three in back aswell.
My oldest will go in the middle.

Hubby car however will be a tight squeeze! I think any car without 'middle' seat would be tight with 3 car seats.

Ive got the scenic and as someone's said as it has seperate seats they fit well. My sister had a picasso, she had 3 carseats in there fine ")

Yes they do - we've got a Grand Picasso and have tried it with 3 car seats (for kids age 9mths-4yrs) and they fit. All have isofix too which is useful (some cars we looked at didn't have isofix in middle seat)

interesting to read, we have vw touran so hope will be ok.... just wondered who goes in the middle of ur three kiddies.. wen baby arrives, my eldest will be 5 half, middle one nearly 4. i was thinking baby in the middle...what do u ladies find best. x

We were thinking we'd have our eldest in the middle as he can get in and out of the car and put his arms into the straps on his own - the other two would need to be lifted into their seats so it's easier if they are at the sides. Also baby's first car seat can clip onto the pram frame so while she's in that seat for the first 9 months she needs to be on one side so we can manoeuvre it easily

I used to have three car seats in the back of my Citroen C3 before I got a Renault Grand Scenic (7 seater) and the C3 is quite a bit smaller than the Picasso, so I bet it would be fine :)

Our eldest will be 4 and middle child will be 2 years 8 months when the baby arrives and I'm thinking we'll work it so the eldest is in the middle as it will be easier to have the baby on the outside as it will be the most difficult car seat to sort out.

Great to hear opinions on this...it definitely seems to make more sense to have the eldest in the middle!

I'm going eldest in the middle as he can get himself in and out easier so I'm not having to stretch across so much with the littler ones. X

I'm glad I found this thread. We have a Citroen grand Picasso and kids will be 4 and 2 yr 4 months when baby arrives, so also need 3 car seats in back. I've done it before with my niece and it's fine. Think I'll put my eldest in the middle too x

I have a picasso and have my youngest (2.5yo) in the middle in her britax 1st class, and the boys (11 & 7.5) either side in booster seats. One reason for her being in the middle apart from the safety side of things is to stop the boys from fighting on long journeys haha
I love the space in my picasso but am going back to a normal saloon car shortly as my poor picasso is getting old and in need of tlc and tbh i can't be bothered putting money into it.

Good question. I have to try this in our small car. But will be getting a Kia Soul come January.

I'm thinking oldest in the middle as well. DD#1 is 3 years, DD#2 will still be rear facing when this one arrives.
